Tiers:

  • T1 : levels 1-4
  • T2 : levels 5-10
  • T3 : levels 11-16
  • T4 : levels 17-20

will be there to run:

:new_moon: SHADOWDARK

  • we will create characters together
    • … this will take ~ 2min (5min if you never have played D&D before)
  • the game has a strong old school early edition D&D vibe
  • the adventure itself is a dungeoncrawl

if you know D&D 5E you know Shadowdark

  • the system is fast & simple
    • roll d20+bonus to meet/beat a DC (or Armor Class of an enemy)
    • advantage/disadvantage = same as in D&D 5E (roll 2d20, take the highest/lowest)
  • torches are important
    • no PC has Darkvision
    • the game uses a real-time mechanic (1h) when torches burn out
  • treasure also grants XP

if you wanna join a D&D 5E table, please show up 30min before
there is def. someone there that will help you with character creation :+1:

(should you want to join Shadowdark, this is less of an issue since character creation will take you about ~ 5min only)

@Darthbinks What’s the tone of this adventure going to be like? More lighthearted, more grounded, or more grimdark?

old school dungeon

dep. on the table (and my mood) it will have some light-hearted moments,
danger is however far more “real” than in a classic 5E adventure
e.g. the example Human Wizard in the video above :point_up: has just 1 Hit Point

“The wealthy Bittermold family once lived in the keep, but their line suddenly died out and the whole place fell into ruin. The lord of Bittermold Keep had a magic ruby that let him walk through fire unscathed. It was a gift from a demon!”

To prevent any misunderstandings. No DnD 5e games have been confirmed for this week and location yet. Darth Binks is going to DM a different RPG system. If someone else DMs a game, I’m sure you can join there. Or otherwise, I’m sure there will be DnD 5e games at Die Requisite.

(ofc you can also just still vibe with us and test the Shadowdark system too)
