Hi RPGers!
Please find the intro to my second Spire session season here.
The city is in turmoil. The explosive loss of the DCF Downspire HQ, along with its most senior commanders (as well as a Vigilite arson attack on a nearby pottery factory) has called into question the supposed higher security that the DCF was designed to bring. Lord Errin Jubilant-The-Devoted was required to make a public statement to calm the aelfir population and from your connections in the Ministry, you understand that even the Council sessions have become fiery as others complain of the incompetence shown. As a show of ultimate power, the aelfir have instigated a full drow lockdown - registered workers of the upper levels (docks, works, gardens, Silver Quarter, etc.) are drawn up street by street and escorted to and from work by the city guard. Anyone else is forced to remain inside on lockdown, forcing all businesses in Derelictus and Red Row to remain shuttered until further notice. The streets of Derelictus are empty - the Ministry suggests it is too dangerous to act now, unless they suspect involvement in the recent attacks. But there is a glimmer of hope - the annual Frozen Fest of Gratitude (where the aelfir supply magic-induced snowfall to all districts in Spire for the day) has been allowed to take place as usual, as to cancel it would heave too much social disruption for the aelfir to control. So the Ministry wants to make the most out of this day - they want you to take to the busy streets to celebrate but also meet an information broker in the district who may give up useful leads for money/not being injured. Can you avoid suspicion on this festive day?
Let me know if youâre interested! (If you are repeat players from my one-shots or sessions, you will be able to add an additional Low Advance to your existing character ahead of the game).
As before, I have attached all the materials needed to create a character from the choice of 15 classes. These characters have resistances (Blood, Mind, Silver, Reputation and Shadow) that can be impacted in the game instead of hit points. You should start with the Spire Characters file first if you would like to create a character, as it gives all the necessary approach directions. An extra piece of help, however, is that if you are provided the same Domain or Skill twice, you can gain a Knack, which allows you to roll with mastery. A knack is a more focused version of the domain or skill. For example, if you got the Fight skill twice, you could choose to have a knack in fighting with blades and you could roll with mastery whenever you fought with a bladed weapon.
