List of DnD friendly places in Vienna

Old Oak would be fun, as I live down the street xD

We tested out the Old Oak on a Saturday evening; they have two bits - the Wild Geese which they will open if they have ~ 24 people and the main pub. I booked ahead and they put us on their ‘quiet’ table in the main pub, it was high seats but that worked fine since I could DM on my feet.

Noise about the same as 1070, we got one guy come up and tell us about his lvl 14 fighter, otherwise it all worked pretty well.

From my times of PhD studies at Biocenter I recall that with all the students and locals there were always somewhat funky mix of people in the Old Oak

I am pretty sure Patrick said three tables in the WG would work Friday. The non bar room is great for playing. Will talk to him again as it’s in my hood

Question for the locals - I often see libraries mentioned as places to play D&D - is that feasible here or more an American thing?

American thing

a) space
b) loudness

Not 100% sure. True for academic libaries - could be checked with the public libraries but there the issue is more the not very convent opening hours.

May I add Athenaes Siegel to the List?
Athenaes Siegel, Gymnasiumstraße 10, 1180 Wien
As I am meber of this Association I do not rate it, to keep this neutral.

I sometimes play Pubquizzes at Nelson’s and the only customers seem to be quizzers. It might work too but I’ve never been there outside of organized events.

Also URBAN‘s lounge 10.Wien| beste Eventlocations bei WO FEIERN close to Hauptbahnhof seems like a potential spot

Thanks for sharing - can’t verify the link though (seems that their website is down). Is this Nelson’s Pub at Seitenstettengasse 3, 1010 Wien? Also is this potential DnD place or is it only for those who play quizzes?

Yes that’s the pub and you’re right, the site seems to be down. I intended it as a potential dnd place but never got around to playing/ trying to play there

Cool, will add it as a lead

Hello ! I m working at the ten.fifty brewery in Favoriten, and i think it could be a good place for DnD sessions, it s opened during this summer from thursday - friday (17h-23h) and saturdays (14h-23h) and there s lots of space, especially on the upper floor that is likely to be empty during sunny days. You can also make reservations to be sure to have a seat for security, but normally it s rarely full.

It s maybe not the closest area but i think it can be really practical and suitable for a session. (And it s homemade beers ^^ but lots of softs too). From september it will be open from tuesday-friday 17-23h . tuesdays and fridays or days with really few people, especially fridays. We have big tables, suitable for a DM and 6/8players. Have all a good day !

I’d love to check it out. If we can manage to run a session there and I have time I’d love to visit.

And i think saturdays are not full either. I m also thinking, but don’t want to get too ahead of myself, But if lots of people are interested in doing sessions on a monday end of afternoon / evening, maybe i can talk with the bosses and see if it s possible to open for a gaming night, privately.

I pass that Sägewerk everyday, as I use the 38 Strassenbahn. Easy to get to, but also was at Siren Games today, and bought WFRP Sea of Claws. Spoke to them and the gameroom downstairs was empty, for a Friday morning. I want to play WFRP, but a good old high (deadly) fantasy, lol. Not a game of social role-play and cooking, unless it is a Butcher Ogre grinding up corpses for a spell, I have one made, lol. I am thinking an adventure from Salzenmund and The Sea of Claws. Evil wizards, Norse Wurms and Sea bound adventure. Deep damp caverns with ruins, sirens and the tide coming in.

Dig the product placement. :slightly_smiling_face:
