I agree, I think it’s more fun to concentrate on the roleplaying than on the game mechanics & numbers crunching.
Actually I think that the battle grid would have sped up the combats. It would have been easier for us to locate the enemies and to use special attacks or maneuvers such as sneak attack for the rogue. Additionally we would have gotten a better picture of our surroundings - like the distance between each and everyone of us.
And considering that the encounters we had weren’t that easy, and there probably still are bigger things out there I think it’s better to use a grid for more than 1-2 enemies.
Mechanics and numbers are part of the game. 
And we had a good deal of RPGing so there’s no need of dropping some mechanics I think.
small important question: what about my friend, may he join the next session?
And…do we know when the next session is going to be? I know we said july but did we set a day yet?
I don’t think there’s a date yet. But Hugo is on holidays for now (and so are we till the end of the week)

This week is bad for me, but Friday the 26th should be fine. August 2nd … I’m not entirely sure, I’m having surgery on the 9th and the precursory exam is on the 2nd. Not sure what that all involves and how long it’ll take.

I am neutral regarding the location but I would like to emphasize that I have plenty of space, a big table and enough chairs
