No, they don’t throw us out at 6 - that would render the entire idea pointless instead, they let us into the gamezone (next to the store proper), and we can stay for as long as we want. If we pull the door shut behind us when leaving, it’s closed up and no hassle with keys or anything…
can’t guarantee there won’t be tournaments occassionally, however… but the guy said that pretty much most of the time this kind of stuff is rather on the weekends…
also, we could have rotating “buy some snacks for everyone” duties, which exclusively go to those that are not coming directly from work? Supermarket’s close by…
coming right down to it, to me it’s the question of “quality of our roleplay” vs. “quality of our culinary and hangout experience”. And frag it, I would roleplay in a dark moist cave with spiders in it - if it was quiet, spaceous and for free - but that’s just me
(of course if we could have the best of both worlds, I’d also prefer that. Some kind of restaurant or pub with a separee or something would be ideal. Haven’t been able to find any that isnt in the 21st district though…)
Ok, so one of us would have to be there before they close the shop, otherwise the gamezone would be locked as well, right?
Since you’re talking about the ‘quality of our roleplay’…Didn’t you like the games we’ve had yet? I don’t think the missing noise is going to change that much. It’s just background noise.
Well, as mentioned before I’d give it a try but I’d prefer noise in a bar over snack-wheel-duty, radiator carrying and such.
I’d say let’s give it a try. But if it’s really that uncozy… and I can see that some of us don’t have the time to grab some food when coming directly from work. Snacks and such are nice but they might wanna have something warm. I get that.
Admittedly the Spielbar is a really nice venue and the location being so close to work is a big plus.
I’d be up to give Gamezone a try but can understand if the majority prefers Spielbar.
btw: Thursday works. Pendragon sounds splendid! wherever we may end up at.
Well, sometime, the Spielbar is a bit noisy and some players have trouble hearing what’s goung on.
As for the food, it is quite close from Mariahilfer straße, it should not be too difficult to go and buy something there…
I think we should give it a try… Also, there is Café Sperlhorf where I have olayed bardgames at time. I do not lile it nearly as much as the Spielbar, but it should be much quieter…
You’ve never been to the supermarkets there between 6 and 7, have you?
Sure, I’m up for trying anything. If you guys want to lug radiators, sofas and snack bars halfway around the city, more power to you. (I have to wonder, however, whether being dependent on one person to bring a heater is our best idea ever.)
I do think we might be selling Spielbar short, though. It may get slightly loud at times, and the menu’s a bit slim, but it’s cozy, the people are friendly, and they serve food and drinks at temperatures other than room.
On another note, did we just make a big deal about retiring our endless meandering thread, only to replace it with an endless meandering thread?
Yeah, if the venue proves to cold, it is no big deal to move back to Splielbar… At least for the winter…
But, yeah, I am not picky in term of where to game. I just need a table, a chair and decent lighting…
As for the threaf, I think the idea was mostly to provide a more self evident title for newcomers to know tol check it out…
So, where do we wanna play tomorrow? I think if we want to try out the new venue we should do so when more of us got time. Especially with Auburney not being sure about whether he can make it or not ( he’s got the radiator and the connection)
Uh, yep, not gonna be able to make it today, sadly - wish you all a lot of fun!
We can always try and find another place, if so many of you don’t like the idea of the gamezone Forex, what about Simon’s suggestion about a page back or so?
That leaves Simon, Kay, Tom and me… u sure we want to continue with Pendragon tonight? Looks like most of the people from the last sessions are not gonna make it today…
Alternatively I could GM a simple introduction one shot for Dungeon World that I have readily available (have been running that for another group lately).
It’s a very old-school-ish scenario but might be fun to explore with DW’s innovative mechanics… Also, it’s rather short and would be perfect to fill the gap since I guarantee we’ll finish it tonight.
[edit] but really, it’s up to you. And I wouldn’t mind postponing tonights game either…

If you don’t mind postponing this, I’d love to be in this game.
And if you’re scheduling, I also have something that I’d like to run soon. See you!
