Weekly games!

As expected, I’m out for tonight, too, I’m afraid. Have fun!

So that leaves Tam, Alrik, myself…right? Are we still playing? Please say yes, I’m jonesing for some arthurian questing action (or forest patrolling action, as the case may be)

Same here, sry. Have fun guys!

Hey! I’m already at Spielbar. Let’ s play something. Wouldn’t mind to finish earlier today though. It’s been an exhausting week.

That was a pretty awesome session, thanks Simon!

For the others: we interviewed Sir Brenus about the state of affairs in his fiefdom (not too much Saxon action going on these days, it seems), investigated the villages surrounding his manor (same impression there), scouted out some potentially useful tactical spots in the vicinity anyways, just in case (a swampy river between two hills, with forest left and right would make a good spot for luring them there and making a stand against them)…

Then we found a woman who had just given birth pretty much in the middle of the wilderness. She seemed in shock however, and wouldn’t speak to us. Her hairstyle marked her out as a saxon, her dress was drenched in blood from the waist down, and her baby - that she stubbornly clutched to her breast - was already dead.
Pretty gruesome stuff, in the middle of the night, no less.
We took her back to the manor, but made sure no one would hurt her there… after all, they all hate the Saxons pretty fiercely around these parts…

Turns out she doesn’t have a tongue anymore, but her valuable-looking clothing marks her as a saxonic (saxonite?) noblewoman. Apparently she was on the run from her own people. And she doesn’t seem to understand our language. What to do with her?

Meanwhile, another problem comes to our attention and commands our immediate response - villagers have been killed in a neighboring (and currently lord- and knightless) realm to the south. By wolves. During the day. Over the course of several months now.

We presently rode there and, in a suitably heroic fashion, proceeded to subdue the vicious menace of the Werewolf of Perbury!

Squire Melion shall forthwithly compose a song of this heroic struggle against the vile minions of darkness

Thanks for a fun game guys. And thanks for the summary Auburney.

Hoi! I think I just figured out what we could do with the Saxon Noblewoman - we just marry her to someone!
She’ll need to get baptized first, sure, but if some lowly knight, erm, worthy suitor could be found, who doesn’t mind that she’s mute… and a goddman Saxon
That’d get her out of harm’s way for the time being, plus it may come in handy later on, when Saxon contact may or may not be made. (She’d still function as a hostage, and maybe provide leverage against the barbaric hordes? If only just to get them to agree to talk to us before a hypothetical slaughter or something…)
Is she pretty? In that particular, intriguing “barbaric foreigner” way, perhaps?
Maybe Sir Brenus could keep her around his court until one of his consorts inevitably falls in love with her? In the meantime, she would learn to behave ladylike, dress appropriately, and stuff…?

That was a great night, thanks everyone.

What’s it going to be this week? Continue this storyline? We have to find a way solve the dilemma with the saxon lady somehow. Marrying her would be ok, but I’m afraid she won’t want to marry and that would be rather cruel ‘giving’ her to someone. We should consult Merlin, or something…

Well, I can run another Pendragon game, for sure, if you guys are not tired of knighting around…

I’d be up for it - knighting it up in the southerly woods, yay!

@ Alrik, this is the dark ages… since when do we ask women their opinions on their impending marriages?!
(oog: I’m not really such a chauvinist! I just think it’s important for Tam’s character to confront Sir Alicejohn with all the abundant sexism of the times… give her a reason why she’s in drag in the first place…)

edit: and I’m not sure we can find Merlin just like that to ask his advice (presuming he even cares, which I dunno)…

hahaahaha. almost forgot about that.

Well, what could be more important than… oh wait… yeah you’re right…

… or is she, like, vaguely familiar from the sagas and myths, somehow? She doesn’t ring a bell for me, but I’m not the most versed in the source material…

she may be an important historical/mythological figure, after all… so perhaps Merlin actually would care… but would our characters assume that he does?

I should be able to join up this week. So see you there, folks.

So, Thursday?

Then, yes, Thursday 19h30. Should somebody reserve the table?

Yey, that was a really cool session - some of us even got hurt real time

Is our (her) only option to marry her off to anyone - don’t all of us have estates and don’t all of our estates have non-married women of noble origin tending to the ladies and such? I for one won’t mind having a Saxon woman on my estate and this way she wouldn’t have to be humiliated by getting married without consent, baptized or anything like that.
(+ as Auburney mentioned earlier, this could prove to be helpful if we run into Saxons later on our way and they see that we made sure she’d be safe. And I don’t think we can even be 100% sure that she was running away from her own people, what if she was a captive somewhere and run away? Or what if the baby wasn’t even hers /ok, I’ve gotta stop here 'cause my guesses are getting more and more far-fetched/. My point is that we can’t be sure of anything before we find a way to communicate with her)

See you guys on Thursday to find out

Agreed on Thursday!

Agreed on “we can’t be sure of anything before we find a way to communicate with her”, too!

Right now, we’re just guessing (I got the impression she was trying to get away from Saxon lands, but then she might just have been lost in the wilderness and may have had no idea herself which direction she was going)

If we can find another way to take care of her without having to drag her along in all our travels, all the better! My character wouldn’t spend too much thought on it though (spoiled chauvinist warrior prince that he is :stuck_out_tongue: ). But it might well be fitting if yours suggested some “kinder” approach… and if it puzzles the rest of us, even better  maybe we’ll make some fun of you then, based on misunderstanding / ignorance of your true intentions…

(“Why is Alistair being so nice to that woman?? Hah, I know! He must have fallen in love with her or something!! Yeah, that must be why he’s opposed to us just marrying her off to Ser Brenus next best vassal - he secretly wants her for himself, hehehee!”)

Hopefully nothing gets in the way this week!

I’m probably out this week, too. Looks like I missed the boat for this campaign.

Sorry but something came up …so I can’t make it today. Have fun guys!
Just pretend my character is drinking and sword swingin’, not at the same time of course…but regardless of what game you’re actually gonna play today
