Hi everyone!
Our group has finished the Dragon of Icespire Peak adventure. The heroes have defended the town of Phandalin from the threat of a Young White Dragon and freed the Neverwinter Woods from the corrupting influence of the Cult of Talos minions.
We’ll be continuing into the official sequel trilogy: Storm Lord’s Wrath, Sleeping Dragon’s Wake and Divine Contention.
This is a continuation of an epic fantasy adventure, where the characters help the people of Leilon. Apart from protecting them from the threats of the surrounding wilderness, our heroes must fight other evil powers that have turned their greedy gaze at the region.
We’re looking for one or two new players to join the party as the next arc begins.
Basic info:
- System: D&D 5e, 2014 legacy rules
- Starting level: 7
- Allowed sources: VALUE character creation rules, official 2014-era sources such as Xanathar’s, Tasha’s, Volo’s, Mordenkainen’s, etc.
- Language: English
- Format: in person
- Location: right next to U3 Ottakring
- Schedule: Saturdays bi-weekly, with an occasional Friday possibility
- Planned Start: 05.09.26 (Session 0 can be arranged mid-July for new character introduction and fine-tuning before the real deal starts)
- Expected duration: long-term campaign, continuing well into 2027
You do not need to know Dragon of Icespire Peak to join, just that the events unfold at the Sword Coast of Faerûn. I can provide a condensed recap if you want to tie your character’s backstory with it, but this is optional.
The source limits race and class choice to base ones. Our merry and friendly party consists at the moment of a halfling wizard, drow fighter, tiefling rogue, half-elf bard, and occasional human paladin.
About the DM:
My name is Andrew and I’m a relatively new DM. I’ve been playing DnD since October 2024 and DoIP is my first real attempt at DMing a campaign. So far I’ve been sharing my duties with a co-DM @Kirgul and I think our collaboration was a great success. So much so that it gave me confidence to continue DMing the sequel campaign on my own. @Kirgul will stay at the table as a player and advisor. She’ll keep doing the organizing part and help me out with occasional homebrew (without spoilers for her character of course).
I’m not the fastest improviser. I’m more of a “numbers and preparation” person, so a big part of my DMing style is built around preparation, plot continuity, physical props and ambience. I go light on the rules but for example keep track of how much damage each character deals to enemies throughout the campaign (for my own statistics and extra rewards, maybe
). I also coded an app to help me keep track of what’s going on during combat.
In my sessions I use printed maps, handmade wooden tokens for monsters and NPCs (and players if needed) and occasional 3D models of locations. I also sometimes use extra handouts such as letters, journal entries, notes, or similar lore/puzzle pieces to build up the lore.

The sessions themselves will be reasonably paced, with lots of roleplay opportunities, plenty of battles and exploration. I’d like to let each character properly develop, reach their personal goal and organically blend in the campaign. I’m happy to work with the material and ideas my players give me.
The upcoming trilogy of campaigns is less of a sequence of disconnected quests but more of a continuous multilayered story that I’m thrilled to continue building with our group.
That’s why regular attendance is very important here. As adventures/quests will often stretch across multiple sessions, it will become much harder to explain characters disappearing mid-event and suddenly reappearing in another one. I would really like to keep the story as coherent as possible - because I’m also doing a novelization of the adventure. Yup, every session lands as a multi-chapter part of an adventure book
for our archives.
Of course, real life happens, and occasional absences are understandable. But I’m looking for players who are generally committed to attending regularly and who communicate clearly and in advance whenever possible. Sorry, got burned too many times. Since I’m preparing to attend and DM every session, I think it’s fair to expect a similar level of commitment from the players — both out of courtesy to the DM and out of respect for the other players at the table. We are of course flexible to reschedule sessions if it benefits the majority but can’t accommodate all individual schedule conflicts.
P.S. Important note! Our sessions are recorded as audio. These recordings are used exclusively for transcription that I use to turn the campaign into a novelized version of the adventure. The audio files are not published anywhere and will be archived as soon as the text is done. New players should be comfortable with being recorded for that purpose.
