Thank you for being part of my debut with my homebrew story “Lost & Bound” (T1) and for your patience and support! I had a lot of fun DMing and I hope you did too
So sorry that you couldn’t be there @katnyx but thanks very much for your help with everything!
Okay okay, you want your loot now - I get it
Lysandra @Vishous , Vandria @Clove , Gerhard @watermelon and Gloomy @Xyathn - you all found yourselves drawn to the coastal town of Greyport, where sharing stories with strangers is a long established custom. While staying at the Gilded Gull Inn, you encountered strange rumors about an ancient temple hidden away somewhere in the forest nearby. Also, strange maps seem to keep appearing in town and nobody seems to really know where they come from.
After your group bonded over shared princess trauma, elaborate but somewhat shady business pitches and neverending bird facts as well as actual birds, you decided to find out the truth behind the temple rumors.
The next day, you managed to annoy the shopkeeper into giving you one of the remaining maps (which looked suspiciously crude) to guide you to the temple. You followed a scenic coastal path, camped overnight, and shared tales of life, death, and everything between.
You continued your path through the dense forest and finally, you encountered what seemed to be a checkpoint run by Goblins. You did not pay the toll and almost started a skirmish, but after you swiftly eliminated their leader, the other Goblins decided their map-scam days were finally over.
Inside the temple, you had strange visions of someone asking you for help. You remember that you all helped someone in the past. Your gifted trinkets now vibrated, pulling you toward a hidden tunnel. You stealthily made your way to a cavern, where you encountered a huge treasure - which (after some trial and error that involved Gerhard’s balls - I mean - ball bearings) turned out to be nothing but an illusion to draw you closer.
Finally, the projection of a purple lady appeared: Vaelora, a forgotten tyrant seeking to extend her life. Through clever teamwork and a genius move of your cleric, you rendered most of the skeletal guardians useless and managed to shatter the crystal anchoring Vaeloras projection in this place. After a quick, capitalistically driven moral debate, you used your gifted trinkets (that turned out to be pieces of fey essence) to free Liriel, a twilight fey trapped by Vaelora to syphon her energy. You met her before because she managed to send her echoes through time and memory each time Vaelora’s grip had weakened slightly.
She was the one uniting you for a purpose. And now you helped her once again!
To show your gratitude, she will gift you one of the following things:
Additionally, she offers you all a Potion of Psychic Resistance.
For Lysandra and Vandria: for your willingness to help, you will find a beautiful smooth obsidian with specks of gold in your pocket. You can sell it for 30 GP if you choose.
You all collect shards of purple crystal that seem to have lost any magical properties but you can sell them for 30 GP (for each of you).
Looting the adventurer’s bodies, you find 80 GP (for each of you), any one mundane weapon or armor of your choice, and a flask of Alchemist’s Fire for each of you.
And while you helped shape the fate of a twilight creature and fought goblin frauds as well as shadow-touched skeletons, back in Grayport, Tobin is still accusing the laundry staff of losing that one perfect grey bed sheet, the soft one, a birthday present from his grandma.
