We’ve also been asked that people limit gathering right outside the door as much as possible. Short smoke breaks aren’t a problem, we just don’t want to disturb the neighbors.
Post below if you are coming - all tables are open. Players of any level of experience are welcome.
katnyx and me are the only DMs so far, her game is full and I will be running T2 (lvl 5-10), which is generally a bit too much for a beginner (but can be done, if need be)
Now that you have shown interest in playing a T0/T1 (character lvl 1 or 3, both being fine for beginners), maybe another DM will offer up to run such a game, so keep a lookout on this thread.
If you need help with character creation, feel free to DM me (here on on discord, same username) and I can help you!
Welcome @Smoookes1991 ! Since I started playing here a short while ago, I haven’t seen any T0 games, but speaking from experience, T1 is good to begin with.
I started with T1 games with absolutely no prior knowledge, and it was a very good starting point, the DMs helped a lot too.
I’m also happy to help if you have more questions about mechanics, character creation, etc. feel free to message me.
Not at the moment, but it’s still early in the week - keep an eye on the forums, there’s a good chance a DM will see your message later and decide to host a game.
Hello to the new arrivals!
I would advise picking any adventure (the organization is really not that difficult to overcome) and seeing how you like it. My suggestion is to find the DMs or genres you jive with by trial-and-error. The community is forthcoming in helping you.
I sometimes run adventures here as well. Tiers 0, 1 and 2 are the most common because of gamesystem problems that crop up with complexity (easily remedied, but encountered nontheless) so T 3 and 4 are rare, but do occasionally happen. Just so you know what to expect without needing to ask for it. If you ask for it you might receive
Drakkenheim is no more… but that doesn’t really matter because we’re not going there!
I’m running "What’s that strange light over there?!" (Drakkenheim setting, T1 - ideally level 3, horror/combat/investigation): someone you know (friend, family, neighbour, etc) has vanished while traveling, and the trail leads to the eerie Hurlich Farm, where strange colors and unnatural noises have scared off the locals. Or maybe you are THE investigator sent by the Amethyst Academy to find out what’s what. Either way, local Sheriff Rudi is stretched thin and offers prospective Deputies 60gp each for a seemingly simple job —go there, find out what happened, and get out alive!
Disclaimer (safety flags/thematic spoilers):This adventure may feature body horror, psychological horror, and the potential for permanent changes to your character.
Don’t worry about that! DnD is a game you play together and not against each other - meaning there is no unfair advantage if someone has more experience. It’s the other way around: the more experienced players usually help the newcomers.
