Salvage Union - Character Classes-compressed.pdf (1.7 MB)

Here is all the info - sorry, I thought it was on the resource site! As mentioned, you can take as appropriate from your class or one from the Soldier class because of Old Sand. Pre-gen characters (who previously played) get 1, @Col_Mustard_Ret gets 2.

Also, I will bring with me the mech sheets for the “requisitioned” Hussar, so someone can choose to pilot that if they wish.

Hope to rejoin with Ekhale  EDIT: I see that already plenty of people have joined - is there an option to make it 6 players? :worried: Worst case scenario, I come as a backup / do a session for 2 people if there are a couple of extra people who wants to come.

Ill be there for the salvage

Unfortunately, both tables are full. I’ve asked the other DMs if one of them are willing to run another table either here or at WoWKeepers. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

Gonna have to sit this one out. Uni has reached the peak of the exam season and I have to lock in. Have fun you people!

If I may, do any of you folks think they’ll be any room here today for another player possibly needing aid in character creation, or would it be best to, perhaps, wait for the next one?

Probably better to wait. It doesn’t seem like there is a DM who can take more players.

If I may, are there restrictions around GMing and systems?

No, though generally non- d&d games have an easier time finding players if they are announced in advance

@katnyx I’m on my way but I’ll be a few minutes late, sorry!

The topic name is very appropriate since the U3 current issues will make me late by around 15 to 20mn. Apologies and long live public transportation.

@Anabel @Martin @Myrm @Col_Mustard_Ret @jboimler @krakentoa - you successfully salvaged some more union (or probably more appropriately: unioned some salvage).

On entering the Wild Hills, you did the Contour mech convey a favour by pulling them out of the mud, only to betray them by siding with the locals when they got to the lake and filled up on water. Through a coordinated ambush that used a sonic attack, a scramble pulse and some suicidal outriders, you were able to quickly pick off the Hussar and Dropbear guards, forcing the Tech 5 Carrier to surrender to you (before being loaded with the damaged but repairable carcasses of its guards). During the scramble, it did however damage its own Plasma Cannon.

Taking your new mech (and mech shells) with you, you explored the Rainmaker repeater station, where beyond not catching any oversized mutant frogs, you did find an automated message pointing you towards the subway system in the Drowned City. With that in mind you: 1) of course stripped the place for Tech 3 scrap, but then 2) went back to the Ceres to start your week long journey to The Terraces.

The requisitioned Carrier is too big to fit on your fledgling Ceres Crawler, but its systems and modules can be unloaded and used elsewhere or scrapped for scrap. It has the following details:

Rallier Pattern Carrier (worth 9 Tech 5 scrap if chassis is scrapped):

Systems: Plasma Cannon (damaged), Mole Torpedo, Escape Hatch, Locomotion System, Multi-Phase Shield

Modules: Mech Scrambler, Multi-Optics, Neuralink, Communicator

In total, you gathered 27 Tech 1 scrap, 1 Tech 2 scrap, 28 Tech 3 scrap and 4 Tech 4 scrap. To pay upkeep (3 Tech 2) and upgrade to Tech 3, you spend 1 Tech 2 and 16 Tech 3 scrap, leaving you with: 27 T1, 12 T3, 4 T4.

While your crawler cannot automatically repair the Dropbear, you could used 3 T4 scrap to repair it if you wish.

You should all gain an ability using the skills file provided above and can also request any 1 system or module of your choice up to Tech 3 (by paying its tech level scrap value, the third number on systems and modules). These are all listed now here.

Looking forward to next time!

Thanks for playing Voyage of the Fallen Star - the Blazing Isles!

You had a bit of a tough time navigating the dangers of the foggy mists, the sulfur in the air, the geysers and stones underwater, but with some great sailing checks, a dedicated captain and plenty of deception convincing the Blackrifters you were with them, you managed to find a random unsafe spot and climb up without losing your ship to the ensuing fire.

Treacherous, dangerous, carnivorous beasts - well, monkeys anyway - probably just wanted to play when one of them was slaughtered and the others put to sleep. Your luck actually started to pick up here, because you managed to avoid the Blackrifters who routinely patrol the area as you followed the astral compass to a star shard likely located in the center of the island. On your path through the jungle after the rain you avoided the aggressive giant lizards and the nest of jungle spiders and their webbing and instead rested in a burnt out pit.

On the next day, you continued to just evade the bad guys and walked a more or less happy trek following the sea urchins to some tide pool farms by the side of the volcano, where after a bit of persuasion Vahlisto believed you that you were not, in fact, with the Blackrifters. As you looked down at the Compass, you realized it was now wildly spinning in a circle - signifying that perhaps you were very close. He told you his story and insists that he does not want to be taken back home. He did draw you a map of the inside of the volcano cave system, which is where the party is going to start off next time.

Loot:

  • Everyone can choose to gain one level and 10 downtime days. The next adventure will be T1, but will not have a level cap within T1 (the adventure will continue at T1 for another 3-5 sessions)
  • The party foundRod of the Pactkeeper (uncommon) that Scorch pulled from the Quicksand. As Vahlisto realizes the warlocks are debating about who should carry it permanently, he shows them his stash of Rods of the Pactkeeper that he has collected in his years on the island from various grave sites.
  • Akhale has the fancy orc armor that was melted and fitted to his form. It’s a plate, and after experimenting with it a bit you realize it’s actually cast-off armor.
  • As Scorch explores Vahlisto’s items, he finds a pearl of power and Vahlisto will let him keep it if he is asked nicely.
  • While waiting for the map to be drawn, Marik searches for shiny stuff. He gets a spies murmur from Vahlisto, who has the other piece and guides him through more complicated situations.
  • Vahlisto also thoroughly enjoys the musical performances given and offers any musician who performs a cloak of many fashions to keep dazzling during their performances.
  • Please note that you can only take ONE of the above options if several apply to you!

Consumables:

  • With an extra day to spend on the island while the map is being drawn, the party can go back to the quicksand/beetle beach and recovers more dust of disappearance. Everyone now has one small bag with one charge.
  • Going through more of the monkey hideouts, you end up with even more potions. In the end, you each find:
  • 2 potions of healing
  • 1 potion of climbing
  • 1 potion of poison resistance

Edit: Please note that as per VALUE rules you can only carry 5 consumables with you at T1. So if you already had other consumables, you will not be able to carry everything on your next adventure

Story / homebrew award: Monkey friendship - Marik and Paulpin are now in a happy friendship with a band of 8 monkeys. The monkeys travel in groups of 4, never alone, and will take one request for a stealth attempt per day.

Thanks for playing - I was surprised and had lots of fun with your non-violent non-aggressive choices  I hope you did too.

I am planning on running the next session, into the volcano, two weeks from yesterday which I believe is the 13th. After that I think it’s a good idea to take a break until the second Friday in January. If you want to go into the volcano but aren’t here in two weeks, please send me a message, maybe I can change things around or start the break sooner. If you don’t want to go into the volcano and aren’t here, no worries
