We’ve also been asked that people limit gathering right outside the door as much as possible. Short smoke breaks aren’t a problem, we just don’t want to disturb the neighbors.
Post below if you are coming - all tables are open. Players of any level of experience are welcome.
Oh hey, do we want to make a full table of roleplayers in T2? I could either join a game or practice DMing my Mythological Egypt setting (Thebes under siege).
If there’s not enough interest in the Sawturday game, (as a few of last week’s ppl have canceled) I might run the T1 I have prepared for there here instead … if there is enough interest here xD
I should be able to judge that by Wednesday or Thursday latest I guess
Let’s finalize it. I will run my Mythological Egypt adventure about the Siege of Thebes in T2 (levels 5-10) named “the necessary evil”.
Expect to demonstrate your characters, immerse yourselves and attempt to thwart an ongoing politcal coup with massive casualties. It’s designed to be played through in one sitting - so if the session ends due to time constraints and you haven’t succeeded, you obviously lose the game. It’s very doable but designed with pressure in mind.
That being said, there is no need to bring “only the strongest characters” as this usually ruins gameplay. Instead, for your own sake, I ask you to play well. This can be done as any character and is far more rewarding. (your quality of play is the deciding factor, not the stats, spells or items on the character sheet)
The challenge is as advertised. Either join up here or message me if any questions arise.
Sure thing! I essentially make judgements over the course of the game to see whether or not players engage with the game and enjoy themselves a.k.a.: get out of the game, what they came here to do. Super simple. It might sound scary but it really is only applied common sense.
Stats, roundabout features, self-referential rules and mechanics mostly rob players of their own enjoyment of the game and they don’t even notice it. That’s what I’m vigilant of and aim to steer players back to the actual session. Avoid navelgazing, partake in fantasy hijinx with open eyes. I’ve seen it happen often enough to notice it.
You are very welcome to the game, should you want to join. (Or the next standalone episode after this one) Win or lose isn’t actually important - the time well spent in-game / at the table is what uplifts you.
