Hey! I know Iām cutting it close with my request, but I was wondering if I could come by tomorrow. I have never played TTRPGs before and am quite intersted in DnD. I just thought I could drop by and see how everything goes. I donāt have to participate immediately, so I would be fine with just checking everything out.

The best way to start playing in my opinion is to start playing. Understandably, the barrier of going to a place you donāt know and then you also donāt know the people there or the game or the social norms around it all can be overwhelming. So just dropping by in the beginning is always an option.
Most people donāt particularly enjoy being watched as they play. I personally have lots of stuff about the way tables should be arranged properly and where players should be sitting and I donāt really have a space in my head for where table NPCs could or should sit, and unfortunately as of right now the table is full so joining for play is not an option.
There seems to be an open space at the table playing Kult (not DnD) which may or may not be a good start - seeing as I donāt know the system, I really couldnāt say 
Or you could wait and see if more players sign up - we do have a potential DM left, which basically means that if enough people sign up to make another DnD table, there can still be one.
I see. Would you suggest I sit out tomorrows session? I am entirely unfamiliar with KULT and uncertain if I could get a proper grasp on the games rule set by tomorrow night. I understand that bystanders might be distracting, though, I promise to be as discreet as possible, should I be allowed to drop by. Thanks for the quick response!
Heyo, new player! I do indeed run a KULT session tomorrow evening and I do have an open space for someone like you.
KULT is a roleplaying game, meaning that yes, people will try their best to actually act as fictional characters and staying within that fiction for the fun of it.
That being said, KULT is a darker-than-black Horror RPG from Sweden that was even banned for a time. It is a great game which concerns itself with things that could very well be real and nobody would want that to be true.
I also run DnD sessions but tomorrow is Kult-time. Feel free to participate if you want to check it out. KULTās rule system is really easy to grasp, far less concerned with presenting numerical or meta answers than DnD is. What you say you do matters far more than what the dice dictate. Otherwise it would undermine player input and thatād be a crying shame.
(If you decide to join us, I will send you the character that is still available for being picked āCaitlyn Dehamreā, the psychologist). So tell us what you want to do and we will deal with the organization around it. We can also provide the necessary dice, so no worries about that.
Before I give my answer, Iāll have to ask. How long would this KULT campaign take alltogether? Just so there wonāt be any issues regarding session planning.
Iām doing a single session. Like most of RPG Vienna, it isnāt campaign-based. So, youād only sign up for this single evening of KULT, nothing more. (Unless people ask for it, it usually remains at single instances, that includes DnD settings as well. It can be expanded but most of us run isolated sessions at a time that do not need to be experienced in sequence)

Hmm, if itās just us i donāt really see the point, sadly 
. I messaged the other VALUE group if they have a free table, otherwise i think iāll skip it today.
@Tiero @Lux_Tenebraeque @Velos @RawEggwhite here is where I would immediately jump in and try to cover, but as of today I still havenāt learned how to split myself in twain, sadly. Maybe you want to try KULT or the other DnD adventures ~next week? Think about it.
next week is a busy one for me. hopefully iāll make it though!
