the silver Ravenloft amulet, you picked up in the bathroom, is actually a figurine of wondrous power (silver raven) (uncommon)
the amulet of the drunkard (uncommon), you picked up in the wine cellar
the +1 shortsword (uncommon), you picked up in the crypt
… this weapon is also tied to a Homebrew Story Award (see below)

ONCE, when this sword is unsheathed, you can scream “By the Power of Castle Ravenloft” and cast the crusader’s mantle spell as an action.
You need to be proficient with shortswords to be able to use this award.
please keep in mind that this Homebrew Story Award only works at my tables
@Vishous, @jboimler, @Alaadu, and Catherin,
Vogler is in flames. Amidst the columns of smoke rising from the village, invaders loot what remains. The villagers traveling with you don’t look away, watching until their home is nothing more than a red-black smear along the river’s edge. The evacuation boats carry all that remains of Volger down the river, toward an uncertain sanctuary in Kalaman.
Still, there is cause for pride. Your strategic efforts spared all but two of Vogler’s 400+ citizens from a certain death, buying them enough time to hastily construct anything they could to escape downriver. Though beaten down by the loss of their home, your efforts have instilled a certain strength that wasn’t present just a few days ago.
The makeshift rafts are required to shore themselves to effect repairs and allow the injured and sick to rest. During one such stop, you receive a disturbing package: Becklin’s helmet, bloodied, found by Darrett as he directed the last of the retreating villagers. The knight herself was nowhere to be found.
…. To be continued!
Thank you all for playing at my table! You did an amazing job preparing and reduced the numbers of soldiers actually reaching the town by FAR. You receive no gold during the evacuation, but you’re able to find any one non-magical item from the Player’s Handbook valued at 100 gp or less from the crates so deftly driven to the town square by Ken. Additionally:
Sony receives a Javelin of Lightning , exceptionally useful for striking flaming metallic dragon constructs in midflight.
Fen receives an impressively shiny sheet of overlapping mithral planks that, when worn, cascade down the wearer’s side. While some of Professor Gnomenheimer’s inventions may be questionable, this one does indeed work! In game terms, this is a Cloak of Protection.
In addition… does it really make sense to bring rations on a journey? Doesn’t food grow out of the ground all the time? Doesn’t water fall from the sky without trying? But you know what doesn’t come for free? SCIENCE!
When you get a glimpse of the Professor’s “Emergency” pack strapped to his shoulders, you see all manners of strange items, and not the single bit of food or drink. On the upside, he has plenty of time to work, and you’ve worked hard to build up a strong friendship with him despite a very rocky start.
Ken: The Professor pulls something from his pack that looks like a tiny metal spider with the world’s smallest steam engine. If you permit it, the spider turns an article of clothing of your choice into Glamerweave. You may choose Common or Uncommon. The spider then breaks down, steam spurting everywhere, scaring off nearby fish for one hour.
Catherin: A gnome on the water with a backpack filled with metal must be prepared! The Professor proudly shows off his Cap of Water Breathing , complete with mechanical water-to-air transmuters. He notices you admiring it, and so he reaches into his bag and produces a second one! Completely matchy-matchy, with the same “For Science!” mottos scrawled beautifully on the sides. After a moment of… you’re not sure what… Regret? Terror? Both? He offers you his spare cap. If you accept, he looks almost thankful to be rid of it.
One of you may opt to keep the Lantern of Tracking (Dragons) instead. The other item is considered lost to the river. Sorry, VALUE rules! And finally…
Darrett receives a:
Even in a silly, fun, Ravenloft adventure, that’s pretty impressive! Well done all!
Fen knows that a single good berry would sustain his body for a whole day, but he is also certain that a halfling cannot live without at least four proper meals a day. Not having the usual six is certainly unhealthy, but everyone has to cut back in times of war. So while he weaves moss into his new cloak and floats down the river, Fen will continue to munch on his rations…
Thanks for the session! It was a lot of fun!
Thanks for the amazing session and looking forward to joining on the future
Ken will return.
Thank you so much for the game! It was hilarious and actually really tense during the final battle, so it delivered on all fronts lol. I had a great time!
(Quinn did too, even if she still thinks they would’ve had a much easier time escaping if they’d just chopped him up )
Julia and me also had a blast with your “Ravenloft Chainsaw Massacre” even though in the end nobody got chopped up Sorry @Rori_95
