(FYI - there is a chunky PF2e bundle up on Humble Bundle just now - pdfs only but great value for those)
Wow that’s awesomeee! Was exactly looking for some of these flip-mats but don’t find them a good value at 10€ for the PDF, this is superb - thanks for sharing!
Hmm… I might even be able to make it on the 4th
Looks interesting, aye @truecrawl ?
(We played a few sessions of PF2 but the Campaign got freezed bc of time issues.)
Ahh, PF2e. There are currently a lot of games being offered and I did have a good time with the system.
I might want to run my own DnD games instead at Value Fridays, but count me in if I have time
The Pathbuilder App gives the choice of Dualclassing. Would that be OK at your table? (Monk + Rogue’s tumble behind (is called Yoko Nagare) =Ninja)
Do we gain increased stats if we cosplay our characters?
Yaaay, i’d be definitely into that!
We can even show what we are planning to do!
As far as I understand 2e dual-classing at the moment, it’s a variant rule that gives characters more power/versatility for fewer trade-offs than 1e or D&D 5e so the answer (especially now in the beginning with focus on mechanics & learning the system) would be no for now
You get either +1 or +2 hero points at the start of the session, depending on the level of cosplay. Looking forward to see what happens
Isn’t the only way to dual class in 2e by taking Archetype dedication feats (the classes exist as Archetypes too)? I didn’t know there was a different variant rule
Archetype dedication feats are more like traditional multiclassing, dual classing variant rule is meant for small groups to give them a wider variety of spells and such, AFAIK
Yeah, dualclassing in PF means having 2 classes at the same time not “replacing existing features for variety’s sake”. It’s meant to be a direct power increase.
As far as I understand, those are the old PF2e, not Remastered Sourcebooks
For the sourcebooks yes exactly, the adventure path, society scenarios, book of dead etc. are in theory cross-compatible with minor tweaks
Someone just reminded me to mention – In the next weeks, I planned to do sub-tier advancement so that we always have enough “eligible” players for a table. The sub-tiers for society are every 2 levels, so 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 etc.
If someone plays for the first time within a given sub-tier, they would “start” at the lower level, and the benefit of having played already at the lower level in the same sub-tier is that you would #1 have more loot & #2 might be a level higher.
If you create a character at higher levels, you start out with the “Lump Sum” of currency listed here using the rules outlined there too:
“…the player to instead start with a lump sum of currency and buy whatever common items they want, with a maximum item level of 1 lower than the character’s level.”
If you, for example, create a fresh character at level 5, you start with 270gp and can buy up to 1 3rd-level, 2 2nd-level & 1 1st-level common permanent items, as listed for level 4 in the table. You can still buy as many level 0- items as you want.
Every item has a level in the top-right of its stat block, so for example a shortsword is level 0 and would cost 9 silver:
But a +1 shortsword would take up a level 2 slot & costs 35 gold:
Uncommon & rare items can only be found through playing & potentially bought at the table.
OK, so no dual-classing.
I can to 90% be there this week. Any plans (which location)?
Probably you saw, Die Requisite
Hi! I really enjoyed the game yesterday, but sadly I can’t be there next week. Since my character is a crafter, can he modify his weapons that way, that he would apply the silver from the longsword on his kama (and attaching it a kusari fundo to be a kusari gama) and sell the now ordinary, non-silvered sword? It would look like this:
Hey, glad you enjoyed!
Yes this is totally possible, smelting the silver sword should be relatively easy and you can use the Pathfinder Society smithy at the Grand Lodge for free. Smelting this down would take 1 day of downtime, either attempting the skill check on your own or paying a blacksmith (1gp).
If we assume you got the raw materials → the crafting part is what the 7 days of downtime will be for – if you buy a formula which would for sure be available in Absalom for this (only 2gp), you will need only 1 day of set-up and can then attempt a crafting check. Here’s more detailed rules on this. We resolve this at the table next time.
