You’re gonna make every class weak and everybody only got 1 hp, right?
Uhm… one week not following the forum and you turn all philosophical at me… Howsoever I’ll be there as usual and take whatever might happen to have some spare spot.
Dang, I won’t be able to make it tomorrow. Guess I’ll have to wait for the re-run… Sorry, I really wanted to play this week…
cu
I would like to come if there still is a spot on the old edition?!
Why not come anyways? It’s not like you need any allowance or such thing, just appear and we’ll get things managed. Everybody is welcome
@ -H-'s different approach: the obvious route to go would be to make fighters as useless as wizards… but… useless fighters? In an RPG? And a D&D-derived one at that??
How delightfully absurd!
We have more Australians now. Of course we’re more philosophical!

(Yes, Neil, that’s the era!)
H, how familiar are you with hackmaster?
Somewhat, although not quite familiar enough to grasp its point …
Why d you ask?

No no, I’m long over my absurdist phase now. That was, what, three or four weeks ago?
Actually, you might enjoy this one. We’ll be taking that quote of yours about the dungeon as a means of exploring the character one step further. (But no, character classes won’t be weakened. Would I do that to you?)
And yes, there’s plenty of room at the table for anyone who wants to join.
I’ll join tonight as well, hope there’s still a table with a free seat
(Sorry for the late confirmation btw)
Thanks for the game Simon! Too bad we didn’t have more time.
NP, I will take the kit out at some point and play the adventure as intended…
Yes, I think our game suffered a bit from the one-shot restriction, too.
Oh well, still an entertaining evening, particularly when it came to those thorny cross-party negotiations.
Thanx Simon, that was really cool! And yep, I agree it’s too bad there wasn’t more time, it was a nice idea to put the two groups together by the end of the story.
The two groups meeting up at the end was a nice touch! Big thanks once again to Simon and H for leading the way!
Yes it was a very enjoyable evening! though it felt a bit rushed at times… still I hope to play again soon
thanks to our DMs!
always fun driving you crazy with an insane character, -H-, thanks for another great opportunity!
Which brings me to my one grumble about this last game… are there rules for setting forest wildfires in D&D Next? Cause if there are, I might just have to switch editions and update Gaxophron, valiant halfling champion!
Fortunately halflings have rather long life-spans, so the thirty years skip shouldn’t hurt him too much
This is all just revenge for driving your character mad in Call of Cthulhu, isn’t it?

No idea about Next, but AD&D uses the following table (Wilderness Survival Guide, p.47):
Roll 1d20 for attempts to set soaking wet wood on fire:
1-19: The wood doesn’t catch fire
20: It doesn’t catch fire, either
(Back then, we had an early version of “Say yes” known as “Yeah right”.)
The real question, however, is what your classes and alignments turned out to be. Any thoughts?
Revenge?! You mistake my intent, good sir. That was a Thank You letter!
I loled
@ Class and Alignment: I’m thinking Fighter (cause its the gateway to Bard, of course)… and probably chaotic good or chaotic neutral…
(former-criminal-erm-drifting-musician! background assumed. Self-announced champion of freedom, comfort and the general halfling lifestyle; preferred weapon: big mug with a handle (preferrably an iron one, the earthen and wooden ones shatter so easily ))
