Open D&D Table - Episode 143: Marching In

I will never understand why some modules give away key surprises in their titles.

It’s baffling. You have all kinds of mysterious goings-on, disappearances and reappearances and odd characters galore, red herrings like rumors of vampires to keep the players guessing … and it says ‘Against the Cult of the Reptile God’ right on the cover. Gee, I guess it wasn’t vampires …

Sigh.

That aside, this is a fun module, the original village with weird happenings caused by a nearby evil that so many modules have imitated. If you only ever play one of these, play this one. There are some handholdy bits - it’s intended for beginners - but if you remove those, it’s a good challenge with some serious teeth.
