Looking to start a Daggerheart Campaign

Looking for 1–2 players for a Daggerheart campaign in Vienna :game_die:

Hi everyone! My name is Shin (or for IRL, Felix)

I’ve been living in Vienna for a few years now and have been playing TTRPGs for quite some time, mainly D&D and, since its release, Daggerheart. I’m also a big fan of board games in general.

My partner and I would love to find some like-minded people in Vienna to play Daggerheart, and potentially other board games as well.

At the moment, we’re a group of 3 people and are looking for 1, maybe 2 more players to join us for a campaign.

:game_die: About the campaign

I would most likely be DMing the campaign, although if someone else is excited about running Daggerheart, I’m also more than happy to sit on the other side of the table and be a player.

I already have an idea for a campaign and a rough outline of the world and story, but I deliberately don’t want to define everything before the group is together.

I’d like us to do some of the worldbuilding collaboratively, so that the characters and the things the players are interested in can actually influence the setting before we start.

The goal would be to create something that feels like our campaign, rather than handing everyone a completely finished world and asking them to fit their characters into it.

:performing_arts: What kind of game?

I’m generally interested in a good mix of:

  • Roleplay and character interaction

  • Exploration and discovering the world

  • Meaningful player choices

  • Combat when it fits the situation (and with Daggerheart, combat can be quite a narrative tool as well)

  • Plenty of room for unexpected ideas and solutions

I’d like the atmosphere at the table to be relaxed, friendly and collaborative. We can joke around and have fun, while still giving dramatic or serious moments some room when they happen.

I’m not looking for professional actors or people who know every rule by heart, I surely don’t know the rule book by heart! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

:mage: Experience

Any level of experience is absolutely fine.

I’m happy to help with the rules and character creation for anyone that is not familiar with Daggerheart.

The main thing I’m looking for is people who enjoy playing with the rest of the table rather than trying to “win” the game.

:busts_in_silhouette: What we’re looking for

We’re mainly hoping to find people who:

  • Would like to be part of a longer-running campaign

  • Enjoy collaborative storytelling

  • Are respectful and easy-going at the table

  • Are reasonably reliable when it comes to scheduling

  • Enjoy hanging out beyond just rolling dice

Since my partner and I also enjoy other board games, it would be great if the group eventually became a group of people who occasionally meet up for other games as well — although that’s absolutely not a requirement.

:round_pushpin: When & where?

We’re still flexible regarding the exact schedule and would figure that out together once the group is complete.

Sessions would probably be around 3–4 hours, with the exact frequency depending on everyone’s availability, ideally, twice a month! I would also be hosting our evenings, I would love to get a chance to use the new table we have!

Interested?

If this sounds like your kind of group, let me know!

It would be great if you could tell me a little about yourself too!

  • Your experience with TTRPGs or Daggerheart

  • What you tend to enjoy most in a campaign

  • Your general availability

  • What kind of characters, stories or settings you enjoy

It would all help me (and us) build a world we all like to play in

I’d also like to have a casual chat or meetup before jumping straight into a campaign, just to see whether everyone gets along and whether the group feels like a good fit.

Looking forward to meeting some fellow adventurers — and hopefully rolling some dice together! :game_die:

Hi - my wife and I (Jonny and Lizzie) would be interested in playing!

  • Experience: I have played and run a wide variety of systems for a long time, Lizzie has played DnD 5e for years. Both keen to learn Daggerheart! We also have a large board game collection so would definitely be up for some other gaming :slightly_smiling_face:
  • Lizzie enjoys narratives and character growth the most in a campaign, I’m a fan of bringing everyone together as a team and overcoming the odds
  • We both enjoy heroic high fantasy, like Brandon Sanderson’s cosmere
  • I am available most weekday evenings, Lizzie commutes some days so would be a bit more restricted

Let us know if that sounds good
