Looking for ressources that show the DM POV

Hey there, I’ve recently tried getting into Dm’ing for dnd 5e and I’m currently looking for videos or streams that show a session or oneshot from the DM’s point of view, so I can learn from their decision making and note taking.

Does anyone happen to know something like that? Or in general ressources like guides that help me with planning out a session?

Thanks in advance!

Hi
Matthew Colville has a cool Youtube channel, were he talks about DMing DnD (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkVdb9Yr8fc05_VbAVfskCA).
Good luck.

Matt Mercer has a series of GM tips on the Geek & Sundry channel:

And there is another series with Satine Phoenix (and guests), also on Geek & Sundry:

Or on this youtube chanel:

I love this dude^^

Especially the World Anvil Series

Thanks a lot you guys. So far Matthew Colville’s channels has helped me the most.

I’m preparing to host my first oneshot tomorrow, hopefully it will go well. Depending on how it goes I might host it some time as part of the Thursday rounds.

Cheers, Mourni

Or you could just play games with several different DMs? There are a bunch of fun ones here with wildly different styles. You’ll probably learn more about what works or doesn’t work for what you want to accomplish, and have a whole lot more fun into the bargain.
