Looking for queer folks to play Vtm/ Horror ttrpg irl in Vienna

Hi everyone! I’m putting together a small, queer-friendly group in Vienna to play Vampire: the Masquerade and possibly other horror-themed TTRPGs (homebrew, DTF, Magnus Archives etc.)

:sparkles: What I’m looking for: • Queer players and/or storytellers (all LGBTQIA+ identities welcome :rainbow:) • People who enjoy narrative-driven, character-focused play, with a pinch of good drama.

:mantelpiece_clock: Tentative plan:

• In-person sessions in Vienna (could possibly be at my place). • Language: English • Frequency: probably 2 times a month, but we could decide on it together

:game_die: What to expect:

• Themes of gothic horror, queer found-family vibes, messy vampire/demons/creatures drama, and dark storytelling • A safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected

If you’re interested, drop me a DM (discord: elsapatrick) or reply here :black_heart:

Hey, I’m extremely interested! Would you DM or are you looking for someone else to do it?

Hey, I can do both… i tend to run games that focus more on character relationships than on heavy rules or mechanics. If everyone’s cool with that, I’d be happy to run a session

Went to a live Vampire Masquerade show in London a few weeks ago, such a cool system! Are many playing it in Vienna? The organisers in London were really interested in running ‘official’ live events here.

I would love to see a VtM live here in Vienna, but only 1 person contacted me so far after my post here si I really don’t know…

I’m a bit shy about playing it, I’m quite new to RPGs and it seems a lot more roleplay heavy! But would be happy to have a go!

There used to be quite an active Vampire live scene in Vienna in the 90s and Noughts. I knew people who knew people, and I gathered it was rather fractured along ego fault lines. There were three large factions (that I’m aware of), all with their own websites. Two of those are dead, and the one that’s still live looks as forgettable as - and possibly forgotten in - the Noughts (http://www.vampire-austria.at/). Not that you’d be happy with any of them if you’re looking for English play. At least I was told when they tried their hand at that, sounding like Austrians who might as well be actual politicians instead of Camarilla elders given their Gerlish was the one thing they all had in common.

As for regular tabletop VtM, no idea what happened to that scene. I’m pretty sure those people I knew played it wouldn’t wind up here, either because they’d stick to German sites, or because the flew the Viennese coop years ago.

If you’re desperate for tabletop VtM players, I wouldn’t mind giving that another spin, but I’m a bit of a dinosaur and not exactly the queer folk you originally advertised for. I think.

There is a V:tM connection to the Schlupfwinkel Abendbeisl bar at Kleine Neugasse 10, 1040 - I was told that the owners of the place are Vampire players by the barman (who was a D&D guy).

Maybe with some ingenuity you could pull on that thread

Hi! I don’t know if this is still happening but I’d be really interested to play in the vtm campaign. Never played it before but know the system from watching La and NY by night. I really like roleplay heavy games so this would be right up my alley.
