[LFP] Mythic Bastionland

Hey, I’m looking for 3-4 players for Mythic Bastionland.

I’ve run it before and would really like to get another game going. No experience with Mythic Bastionland needed, the rules are pretty light and quick to learn.

Just to set expectations: it plays differently from D&D. It’s more focused on exploration, making choices and creating a story together, rather than having lots of tactical combat.

For now I’d just plan for one session and see how it goes. If the group gets along and people want to continue, I’d definitely be up for more.

This Saturday (5 Sept) afternoon/evening would be my first suggestion, but it’s not a must. If that doesn’t work we can find another date. Probably Sägewerk or another place that’s good for playing.

We can play in either German or English, I don’t mind. New players are welcome too!

Anyone interested?

I am incredibly interested. I played a session of it in December and loved it. Am busy this Saturday, but would be happy to try and coordinate schedules. My German is rather rudimentary, but I’d be willing to play in either.

Also interested but I’m a complete Mythic Bastionland newbie. But it really sounds great.

I have to work on the 5th though, but also happy to throw my schedule in the mix. I don’t mind English or German both is fine with me.

thank you for your replies! Being a newbie is totally fine, you only need the desire to be an epic knight :wink: I’m looking forward to playing together!

Other possible dates for me would be e.g.

  • Friday, 18.9. or 25.9.

  • Saturday, 19.9. or 26.9.

Would any of these work for you?

We can give the post a little more time in case someone else wants to join, but the three of us are already enough to get a game going!

Hello there!

A friend & I are interested to join you. We are both complete newbies to Mythic Bastionland.

My German is awful, so I would only be able to play in English.

We are free this Friday, Fr 18.9, Sat 19.9, Fr 25.9, Sat 26.9.

I am also happy to host, I have enough space for a party of 6 people (7 if we squeeze at the table).

18.9 Does not work for me :frowning: (Family from our-of-town is visiting)

19.9 Available in the evening (Need to verify what exact time Family is leaving)

25.9 & 26.9 Both work (I work till 17 on 25.9)

I will add that I very much prefer smaller tables. Too many knights in the kitchen. So if we reach 5 or more players, I’l probably bow out and wish everyone happy adventuring.

I agree with @CinderSage that four players is a very good number for Mythic Bastionland. But since there is already so much interest, I think five players would still be manageable; that would definitely be my limit though.

I am already amped, so I suggest we fix Saturday, 19.9., starting at around 16:00, for the first session and see how we all get along.

@CinderSage, @Eira, @Kaomh + friend, @H would that work for you?

@CinderSage, if the 19th still doesn’t work for you, I am also very happy to run another game the following weekend, on the 25th or 26th.

And @Kaomh, thank you very much for offering to host!! Let’s fix the date first and then figure out which meeting place is most convenient for everyone.

I would prefer starting later as well (I actually didn’t register the time :woman_facepalming:t3:- sorry) but I can make 16.00 work.

Also I’d like to meet somewhere public for the first time, since we don’t know each other yet.

Alright, I think starting at 18:00 gives us the best compromise. Let’s fix:

Saturday 19.9., 18:00, Sägewerk Wien, Währinger Straße 21.

Please give this message a :+1: if that works for you, and then I’ll reserve us a table.

A few practical notes before the game:

We’ll play in English.

Since we haven’t played together before: please be respectful of everyone at the table and give each other room to play. Mythic Bastionland can get strange, dark and occasionally unsettling, so if there is any content you would prefer to avoid, feel free to message me privately beforehand.

Other than that, no preparation needed, just bring yourselves (and maybe your luckiest dice). :crossed_swords:

Do we need to prepare anything for the session? e.g. preparing some characters or get familiar with the rules?
