I moved to Vienna at the beginning of the month to start a new job here. I’m a PhD student in Philosophy of Mathematics.
I’ve been playing D&D and other games for about 3 years now.
I’m looking to DM either a D&D or a Vampire (World of Darkness) game and just need to find people!
I’ve got in mind a Vampire game set in Vienna at the turn of the 19th century (Napoleon, Habsburg, War & Peace, etc), though ideally want to meet people and get to know them before committing to run a campaign for them.
Where are good places to play here? My apartment is a little too small!
Hey Gareth, as you know I’d (Matt) definitely be up for a game Cafe 1070 seems to be the main venue, but if you’d prefer a space closer to uni I’ve asked my boss and she’s cool with us using the space at my tea shop for tabletop rpgs for some minimal fee like 3€ a head.
One Leaf, it’s in the 9th near Volksoper, one large table with a capacity of around 8 people and a wireless speaker for ambient music or just someone’s tunes. Naturally I’d also have the kitchen running if anyone fancies buying a tea

I’m familar with Cafe 1070 and I believe Spielbar also offers something, but I’ve never been there. Sadly, my flat won’t work either, considering my flatmates.
I would also like to join your game, but I am only familiar with D&D. As I am a student too, I would like to play in a location close to the university. Cafe 1070 is a nice location too.
Due to the U4 Pilgramgasse station closure, Spielbar is terrible to get to with public transport, so I would prefer to not play there until the end of the station closure, sorry

We have been following DnD 5e content for a while now, read the Handbook etc. and are currently looking for a group to play with on a regular basis. (We both are beginners)
