Hi there!

Just finished reading the guidebook for Spell RPG and would love to run this, probably in January or February during VALUE as a one-shot if there is interest. Please post below if you are interested so if and when it happens I can ping you!

Basically, all of the universe is written in a specific language that describes the laws of the universe, defining what is or isn’t, describes what happened or hasn’t happened. This language is too powerful for the comprehension of mortals, though a few select speakers can translate the universal language into glyphs that they can read and from there, literally spell out new realities (which is magic).

How the game works

This is a game based on rolling up to 6d6. You are guided by your mental capacity, so which creature you play is not relevant, though the world is mostly human.

When you want to take an action, you will need to define which of your key impulses you will use and what the expected result is. You will lose spirit when something is hard, and when you are spiritless, you are no longer able to translate the universal language (or do anything else that requires dice rolls).

Spellcasting: When you say you want to cast a spell, you describe what it is you want to (expected result) and which impulse you want to use. You then roll a number of d6 based on your score in that impulse, add the rolls, and draw a corresponding number of letter tiles. Then you attempt to physically spell out a word that corresponds somehow (you can be quite creative here). If you want to reuse that spell, you can spend points to keep it in your permanent list.

There is no initiative - basically everyone just says what they do, then a round is resolved, and then we continue. I would probably just go around the table for this, but will see.

Character Creation:

Fairly straight forward, wouldn’t expect it to take more than 15 minutes, so I would do it together the day of.

Yeah that sounds really interesting. I think i saw this on Ginny Di’s youtube channel. Would love to give it a go although I am rubbish at scrabble. :smile:

@JustJules @dreamowl @gingerbeardio @Darthbinks does Feb 20 work for you? Would just run as part of one of the VALUE games and am flexible as to Requisite / Wowkeepers

I know some other people told me they were interested but didn’t post here and I’m not 100% sure who you are :slight_smile: I would be looking for a 5 player table ideally. If it’s fun I would probably also rerun.
