I’m 26 years old, and located in 1170. I have no idea how any of this works, but I’m curious. If anyone can help me out, that’d be great!
Welcome!
The easiest way to learn DnD is to play Dnd. We have open tables every Friday in the 3rd and 15th district - you will see a post called “VALUE” in the forum here and just sign up to a table (ideally T0 or T1 for beginners).
Just say it’s your first time playing and usually someone can help you. For creating a character, if you need help, the easiest thing is to see if someone can do a discord call or help out before the game night - though at least at Requisite we do have some pregens in a binder somewhere ![]()
Edit: As a fan of Ginny Di’s videos, I can also recommend this playlist of videos on how to play Dnd for beginners. Note that if there’s character information mentioned, it likely refers to 2024 rules, which are newer than we are currently using at the VALUE games ![]()
Thank you so much! Can you please explain what VALUE means?
Ok, I sign up t0 or t1 and I join the discord, thanks!
VALUE stands for Vienna Adventurer’s League Ultimate Experience.
But really all it means is that in some cases, because our characters, tables, and DMs switch on a weekly basis rather than being a campaign with the same people every week, we have some rules that make sure that your character will be playable and balanced at all table. Those rules (and the corresponding code of conduct) are what’s defined by the title of the forum post called “VALUE”.
Again - thank you so much! Looking forward to play and maybe see you some time in the future ![]()
