After someone asked to arrange an open meetup for the members of RPG Vienna for meeting people from the community and having a nice chat, I am trying to arrange something.
Who is this for? Generally, the whole community in the Forum and Discord. Those who want to see who is behind the mysterious profile pictures, maybe meet some new people to get to know before starting a game, or just to yap about your recent campaigns or hobbies.
Time and Date: The date and location are so far up to debate. I have the next Saturday as a proposed date but we will see if we can make it. I wanted to keep it open if someone wants to suggest something. Otherwise I will look for a comfy pub to reserve a table for.
will not be able to be there this weekend (got a game session), but generaly kind of interested (always depends on how low my social battery is at any given moment )

I was thinking Beavers Pub in 1050, also on the first sept weekend, and I hosted an event there once before. They have a basement which can be public-reserved for free which would be perfect for us (assuming we had like 20 ppl, otherwise, not necessary. If I post this event on reddit, as I have once before years ago, you can expect some 20 newcomers). They have good food and drink. I will give Beavers a call for their availability once they open this evening and update.
Will post in the discord to tell others who might not check the forum that much. The forum is just a bit more permanent and easier to update. Mostly to have an overview in how many people are coming.
I was holding off reserving anything before I know approximately in what range I should reserve. A table for around 5 people is much easier to get than a table for 10+ people.
But I like Beaver Pub and liked it when I played there some time ago. If we get enough people, is it alright if I come back to you?
Sure. I actually just texted the owner for availability and estimated us anywhere from 10-25 people. The basement is kind of a free for all anyway, with standing tables great for mingling in small groups and shouldn’t be a huge issue, I hope, if we over or under represent. Once we hammer down time and place, would it be alright for me to make a reddit post? Helped some people and myself find groups last time.
Oh I misunderstood that, I figured this coming weekend was already booked out with games. I wont be available Saturday so I started for next ‘first in September weekend.’
I wanted to the first one to be smaller, a bit of an attempt. Will reserve a table tomorrow from 19:00 for the people who post. If no more people post I will reserve for 4-5 people
