Any DnD-friendly places along U4-South?

Hi all,

I recently started to look for a DnD-friendly place closer to home (as travel is a nightmare for me these days). I live in 13th so Hietzing would be a good location (or anywhere along U4 between Hütteldorf & Karlsplatz really). Had unfortunately no luck so far. Therefore wanted to see if anyone knows a place or have a potential lead? Would be happy to check that.

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked with your local library? You used to be able to use rooms as available, free of charge.

Also vhs used to offer rooms for a very small fee, lile 20€, but it might have just been a covid thing

We occasionally play at Beaver in the 9th. It’s quite pleasant. I’m guessing the location in the 5th will be nice as well.

Pointers in Resselgasse might be worth a look. Never played games there, but they’re generally accommodating of weird requests.

But you’ll probably be fine anywhere. I’ve never had any issues when breaking out ganes in this town.

Good luck!

Was more looking for something where one can eat & drink too. Although VHS might be a good idea to check out as a backup.

Thanks, the place in 5th looks quite nice - might be a good lead

Oh, that one was quite nice if I recall correctly. Have not been there in like 10 years though - but will definitely recheck it

The library in Hietzing is in the Volkshochschule, I don’t know if they have space for D&D, it’s not a big library (and it might be a bit awkward to get to with public transport from where he lives).

I’d consider the following locations, although I do not know if they are indeed D&D friendly:

Of course there are a lot more restaurants here in Hietzing, but I have never asked any of them about playing D&D there. Also it’s highly budget-dependant, something like Mario or Plachutta in Hietzing are a lot more expensive than the ones I listed above, and Dommayer is more expensive than something like Yildiz Villa. .

Thanks @Arthilas for the great list.

Lindwurm is defininetly on my short list but they only open starting this Saturday - might be tough to reach for other players though (although the vibe there is the best for DnD for sure)

Heuriger Schneider-Gössl - this one is my prime candidate now. Relatively easy to reach from U4 and generaly lots of space. Will be there in couple of days actually - so will ask.
