Lets Go with seril insulted a mindflayer by telling him He was smarter than the mindflayer and that the mindflayer looked Like a squid.

Let’s keep going with the seril bashing .
Seril robbed the dungeon layers bosses dead husbands grave and was “feeble minded” for it. (Means intelligence score 1 with a save in 30 days.) But as his luck is uncanny he get’s the “Head band of Intellect” which gives him automatically an intelligence of 19 .
