that’s the correct place, probably won’t hurt to talk to people meeting there on thursdays, but those meet ups are for playing oneshots in tons of different systems, so far i’ve not seen many groups form that way

We play one shot adventures, in different systems, on Thursday - but that is a good place to start if you are new to pen & paper roleplay. So I would suggest coming along one week and occasionally groups do start as a result of meeting people on Thursdays.
If you are planning to show up on Thursday we usually have a thread for that week at some point (here is this week’s) - just drop a note to say you are coming as it helps people plan games.

These fora is not a bad place to get started. The Thursday meeting in particular is a pretty good place to meet people, discover different game systems and even meet a group for a more regular campaign…
