Yes, great fun last night. Dungeon World is a very interesting game that I’ve been wanting to try for some time. (I’m not sure I fully understand what it’s trying to accomplish, but that’s for another thread.) In any case, huge thanks to Alrik for sharing it with us! (Get that Kudos guy over here.)
I also have to say I’m enjoying the two tables format very much. There’s just something nice about hearing the occasional odd-sounding snippet from across the room and wondering what the context could be. This is pretty much what I envisioned way back in the Drinks, Conversation thread; it’s nice to see it happen.
And speaking of Action Castle, should we ever want to play a game with everybody at the same table, I’d be happy to run another scenario …
Thanks to you as well! That was a lot of fun yesterday. Dungeon World really is a great game. We need to finish this some time. And I’d like to run a more classic dungeon crawl too. To see if it’s really somewhat like the old incarnation of D&D as some claim or not at all.
This. I’m very happy about where we are now more than a year into the “project”.
Yeah, it’s starting to become apparent that we will have to make an effort to mix it up a bit in the future.
As of now, if COPS continues next week, we’ll remain locked into the same / similar groups for one more week at least. This might potentially continue ad infinitum as long as we “replay” scenarios like we have started to do.
I like the two groups format a lot as well, for most of the same reasons already mentioned but I’m also all for mixing the groups up a bit, sometime in the foreseeable future. (Doesn’t have to be right away, though!)
Speaking of which, how’s it look for that COPS rerun/wrap-up next week? That gonna happen by any chance?
Cause if so, we might as well start planning what the rest of us want to play next week (maybe continue Dungeon World?)
We absolutely do need to finish this. If there’s not all that much left, could we perhaps meet an hour earlier next time to continue the adventure?
Auburney and I were talking about playing this in an actual dungeon last night; it’s something I’d very much like to try. That might be quite interesting to see unfold, and provide a new perspective on the classic dungeon concept.
As to whether it can be like old D&D, I’ll withhold judgment for now, but I have my doubts. It’ll be fun finding out!

I’d say, for next week, you guys continue DW and we continue COPS. And from then on, have a schedule of 2 week rotations.
Week 1 Minigroup 1 plays game A, minigroup 2 plays game B
Week 2 Minigroup 3 plays game C, minigroup 4 plays game C
Week 3 Minigroup 1 plays game A, minigroup 2 plays game B
Week 4 Minigroup 3 plays game C, minigroup 4 plays game C
Something like that.
So we have the same games continuing in 2 weeks again. And every time a game needs to switch up or change, we just start another rotation.
I hope that makes sense, I’m writing this on my phone and don’t really have the capacity to expand on it just yet.
Yep, several of the COPS players mentioned wanting to finish it, so it’ll continue next week…
As for afterwards… Well, the participation does not feel to go down so far, so the two groups format seems there to stay…
But, of course, we’ll need to mix and match the groups but I don’t think it would be difficult to do.
If we’re already playing in the same groups as yesterday, I’d love to continue Dungeon World next week. If there’s not enough left to fill an evening, I could offer either a shortish Grimm scenario as a nightcap, or we could start making characters for that old D&D business.
Ooooh.
I want to play a Paladin.
Or a Bard…
Or a Palabard…
Then I want to play a Monk-ey
… or I go with playing a Priest with (starts with) good intentions, who worships a deity, that has a doubious belief system as well as a questionable morality
So for next week, will it be possible for me to join one of the groups ? as you know, I started neither COPS nor DW, so I don’t want to be the problematic element… just let me know
