thanks for letting us know!
I’ll be there for Spelljammer Academy again, continuing to leave behind “NO WITNESSES”
I am so sorry, I would not be able to come today. Maybe the slot can go to someone else. If you are going to continue with the voyage campaign id love to join again
@driow123 @Clove @turtlene @Burek @Martin @Vishous Thanks for playing the Monastery of the Arched Sky, adventure 1 in the Voyage of the Fallen Star!
As per VALUE rules, you each gain 10 Downtime Days and can level up, if you so choose.
You also have the loot you found in the Monastery (pick no more than 1):
- 1 Robe of Useful Items. Seeing as you have already used the healing potions, the following patches remain (1 each): dagger, bullseye lantern, steel mirror, 10 foot pole, hempen rope, sack, pit, rowboat
- 1 Longsword+1 taken from the dead hands of the remains of the half-elf
- 1 Vase (now filled with the Ashes of Magnus) that seems like you could sell it for 25 GP if it wasn’t full of Ashes
- 1 Slumbering Dragon Vessel (requires attunement) (the vase from the Reliquary where the compass was)
- 1 Diamond (from the chest in the Reliquary)
- as you play around with your bottle of wine, you realize it’s actually only half the size it seems. the bottom part detaches and can turn into a Tankard of sobriety. You may drink the wine or sell the “half-bottle” for 15 GP.
As for the adventure - well, you managed to get essentially one-shot by a violet fungus and like others before you enjoyed the glory of waking a giant creature sleeping in a dragon’s skull. But, you made it out alive, and as a team. And you bonded so much that you even decided to not complete the task given and forfeit the money. Cendrail is lying up in his bed, wondering what has happened to you. He will send another group of adventurers in (eventually) to check what has happened to you if you don’t return within a week. So much excitement in such little time!
@Clove Scorch cast Protection from Evil and Good on you again. If you want, you can choose to end the possession by Magnus.
→ If you keep it, Marik will be possessed at my tables only and will desperately want to be close to (and preferably hold) the Astral Compass. As a reward, he offers to lead you to the gold and riches of a famous pirate captain. You think he’s telling the truth about believing he knows where it’s hidden, but there’s no guarantees. Keeping the possession will cause you to make Charisma saves once per short rest to see if his asking for the compass drives you crazy (exhaustion). If you carry the compass, Magnus is appeased.
Any characters interested in playing adventure 2: Not sure when I’ll continue, probably at some point in the next month, most likely in 2 weeks but not sure yet. In the next adventure, the party will return to Grayhaven to try and procure a ship - the rowboat would just be suicide.
Wheeee thanks for the great game I’m glad we all made it!
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to thank you all for an awesome experience (1st-timer here ). I was at the Spelljammer-Table and my wife @Clove at @katnyx table. It’d be great if you could hit me up on Discord as well, my handle there is aldinn_
Thanks again for an awesome experience & sorry we had to leave a bit early, the doggo was waiting
Aldin
P.S.
my character’s name was ‘Aldo’ (the wizard who threw up)
As much as it isn’t necessarily a character bonus, having the most human reactions to stress was greatly appreciated! It was great to have you there, hopefully see you again soon!
Istan sure has a lighter neck by now.
That nat 1 on my handaxe roll really made it cramp up
Thank you for leading the adventure!
So great to hear that, thank you! I’ll definitely be back
Thanks to @shocker - Ludwig, @Col_Mustard_Ret - Zap, @ofey - Aldo, @kergy29 - Manastus, @SND - Robin Glenn plus Sparkle for joining the Spelljammer Academy and playing through Starlight Arcana: A Gathering of Stars.
After being assigned the Waspship Seven of Anna with Siseth the Spelljammer and talking to Alya and Yarfer, our crew sets out for the planet Coliar and the Church of Stars there. Alya and Yarfer have completed their repairs to the Astralabe and need to calibrate it with a ritual from the Church of Stars - where Yarfer has a contact. Tangling with a Star Lancer on the way gets some of the crew gored but compensates with delicious fresh bat-shark.
Arriving into orbit of the giant the air-planet Coliar, our heroes spot the floating rock with the Church of Stars and circle in. They spot people standing listlessly about the town, failing to react to the large ship flying past. Climbing down ropes from the ship while Siseth hovers above, then helping Alya and Yarfer down, our crew explores a bit and finds the townsfolk they meet reacting like scared animals and disappearing into shadows. After Ludwig corners one group and gets into an easily-won fight with them they continue on to the Church of Stars.
Within they find Sajal, Yarfers contact, who says the strange behaviour is driven by a black stone that the merchant brought to town and the blacksmth bought. They also hear that the ritual that the seek is in the catacombs below, in the tomb-libraries of previous monks. Deciding that smashing the black stone is the best course of action the crew heads to the butchers, finding a weird golden-armoured mummy with the blackstone hovering within it that lunges for them.
A stiff fight is joined - with a mysterious alley helping - and life sapped from members of the crew before continuous fire damage destroyes the mummy bandages and leaves a collapsed heap of golden armour around the black stone. The ally reveals themselves to be Nex, a strangely charismatic goblin, who secures the stone within a glass case and eagerly takes crew up on their offer to sign on with the Spelljamming Academy.
They return to the Church of Stars as townsfolk avoid them or are found unconscious. Sajal thanks them and promises them all the assistance they need with their mission to calibrate the Astralabe once he has had a few days to deal with helping the townsfolk. The crew returns to Spelljammer Academy with their new recruit and a stock of freshly caught Star Lancer.
All crew get a level, 10 days downtime, 10gp in wages, 50gp worth of mundane equipment issued from the Spelljammer Academy quartermaster plus 15gp each worth of “requisitioned” gear from the “abandoned” houses. In addition, anyone can take a +1 shield made from reworking the mummies golden armour.
