You get back to Saltmarsh and tell the official about your findings. He is very thankful that you cleared the house and put the previous owner to his final rest.

As you mention the signs of people living there he is very disturbed and questions you thoroughly. When you tell him of the bullseye lantern and the signaling notes he gets suspicious that some group uses the rumor of a haunted house as a cover for some nefarious dealings.

  • 65 GP from the city of Saltmarsh,
  • 40 GP worth of trinkets in the alchemists laboratory and
  • 35 GP for selling the found books in the manor
