Thanks for playing marvelous mansion - horse harbor. I was very entertained by your choices and hope you had fun, too.

All in all, you got there and came back safely, which is more than can be said for plenty of poor souls. You definitely got some practice in persuasion and stealth and I suppose you learned that if you get bitten by lycanthropes, you may catch the disease. But in any case, all’s well that ends well.

Of course Kortak didn’t want to risk Conrat and his semi-motivated army growing and fulfil their plan of a werevasion, so he called a lot more adventurers who came prepared and, to put it gently, massacred them. You accompanied the 3 workers to a temple where they indebted themselves into servitude as a reward for a greater restoration spell.

Kortak asks you to sign a piece of paper that talks about fulfilling your duty, blabla. You get gold after signing it, so you’re quick to sign and uneager to read. Kortak does point out that the broken box doors in the stable were still broken, because the doors weren’t in the hinges, so you don’t get that particular payday.

You do get 120 GP each as promised, and as you meet for tea a few days later and talk about everything, he also silvers your weapons - just in case - with some silver he found in the main house (each of you can choose one non-magical weapon of choice that is silvered) . Apparently the lycanthropes have been roaming the grounds for a while and the Marvelous family was prepared. You get 20 Downtime days.

Kortak also tells you that he found evidence in the library that Master Marvelous - the first of the Marvelouses - built the Horse Harbour with the boat and reversed stream system because his kids loved the water and he thought it would be kind of cool for them to play there. As the years progressed, it was deemed increasingly unsafe and wasn’T commonly used, though it’s unclear how long ago the passage was abandoned.

Kortak does not end up finding any spell books in the library, but he did find a spell scroll: Absorb Elements. He is not looking forward to the cleanup down at Horse Harbour (but probably best to get it taken care of quickly or rats will come). And with that fun bit of information he sends you off to explore new things, avoid more fights and bullshit your way through near-death situations - onward.

You successfully stopped the evil spirit that ruined the first wedding, and all attend the second one, which has yet more gossip, wild magic and niece pranks, but thankfully moves on without a wedding-ending hitch. You also have a close friend in Holly, Peanut, Valeth and Gwendolyn the Hag after the adventure. Holly and Peanut are also extremely thankful for the not-cursed amulet that Ulenor presents them, soldifying the cooperation between the local elves and fey.

As a thank you, from their bountiful gifts, Holly and Peanut reward you with 160gp each. Valeth also lets you keep one of the Bag of Tricks or Handy Haversack, each, as his own thank you for bringing the balance back to the Southwood. If you still had one of the potions bottled up at the wedding, you can keep this on top. All of you get your mandated post-adventure 20 vacation days as well.

Thanks a lot for your exciting mission and great help with character creation (and also updating that :wink: )! I have some mercantile questions.

  • I have already played a 1-level rogue with very similar properties as yesterday. Let us say that it was after character creation yesterday. Can I join those characters and their great acquired wealths?
  • If the second character had also 20 Downtime days, can I use them as well? Or do the old downtime days disappear after a new adventure?
  • Kortak gave us a spell scroll: Absorb Elements. I assume that was given to each adventurer? Or did we have a wizard in our group who could use that? I forgot who exactly was @JustJules . If we can’t use that (I was a rogue), what do we do with that?

Yagwoo would have copied the spell to his spellbook, so the scroll itself is free for the taking. I’m pretty sure you don’t need to be able to cast spells in order to use a spell scroll (my bad, not the case, I didn’t know how spell scrolls work)

Everyone can choose between the spell scroll and the silvered weapon. it could be argued that for anyone other than wizards, the scroll is consumable and everyone can have it, though that was not the intention :smiley:

According to the PHB, if the spell is not on a spell list of your class, you cannot read it. So as a rogue, you are not going to be able to use it, because you don’t have a spell list. If, however, you wanted to take the scroll, you could keep it until you reach level 3 and go for the arcane trickster - then I suppose it would work.

The downtime days are for your characters, not for you as a player. So your characters can keep and collect or use downtime days as they see fit, for as long as you’Re willing to add them up (they don’t expire) but you can’t use Downtime Days that you got with one character for another character.

The same is true for the two characters and combining them. If you want to blend the two characters together, you create a new character, but you can’t take the best of both and add the money that you got. The wealth that they have is not transferrable between them (with the exception of magic item trading, which is a thread in the forum linked at the top of any value post). Think of the two characters as separate people who don’t want others to take their stuff.

Leveling up costs 10 of the 20 downtime days you got.
