I‘m really sorry, something came up and I won‘t be able to make it today
But according to all the replies there should be enough players even without me. Have fun!
5 players’s ok. I’ll be a bit less early than hoped though
I’m on my way, just 5 min late sorry!
A hearty thanks to @KJ, @tonimon and @question_max
Thanks to your help our Shady Sillius got the trade of his lifetime and the surroundings around “Insert generic town name here” are a bit safer than before. Not that anyone not shady would care, it was the travellers and shady types dissapearing not townsfolk! Pah! But what about your compensation for the deed? Well…
Rewards
The strongboxes Volga had you receive were packed to the brim indeed! Each one of you find there:
- 160 Gold pieces
- A genuine letter of credit for 20 Downtime days (See Here what you can do with them)
- Your choice of a pair of Gloves of Thieving or a Lantern of Revealing
- Bonus for retrieving an Ankheg egg: one dose of Dust of Dissapearing
Aftermath
Concretely, your actions made sure that the strange lights go silent and so did the dissapearances stop as well. For the next 3 days a figure in a trenchcoat and a fedora could be seen standing atop the tallest building in town and staring into the distance for no particular reason. The townsfolk would be talking about his aura farming for a long time to come.
Thanks to everyone who played at my table the other day: among them I know @Nightdance and @AGmilky and there were 3 more people among @Teki @Muuh @Tiero and @DanielB and his +1.
After you contacted the port authorities in Numina, the Coast Guard was happy to recover their missing members and the other kidnapped sailors from there underwater city, and among them Capitan Ivellios and his crew.
For freeing the Logarian Sea from the terror of Abby Jones and his mind-controlled pirates, you are each awarded 160 gp and 20 Downtime days.
The shipwreck turned out to be a very good deal for Captain Ivellios, who got enough insurance money out of it to retire from the shipping business and live comfortably for at least 50 years, if the cards go his way. He was so happy about the whole affair that he let you keep what little of his cargo could be recovered. You can each choose 1 item between a cloak of elvenkind and a boomerang shield. You also keep 1 bottle of Abby Jones’ water breathing potion each.
Thanks for DM’ing the fun pirate underwater adventure for us
I enjoyed it a lot
And thanks to the other crewmembers as well ![]()
Edit: About the Finder’s Goggles … technically none of us can attune to them unless we have that “Mark of Finding”.
with the current iteration of the house rules for VALUE there is no consideration to magic item attunement requirements, so they do still apply, so unless a character has this (sub)race (marks are basically subraces or variant races) they can not attune to this item, it might be a good idea to think about these kind of restrictions for the next VALUE rules iteration
Uh, thanks for pointing this out - I missed that requirement. To make things easier for everyone, I changed the reward to a boomerang shield.
just a quick fyi, I removed the links on the magic items as that site hosts a ton of pirated stuff and (we) I’d rather avoid the risk that goes along with that
Haha thanks for DMing! In all his adventures, this swashbuckling cat extraordinaire never had to engage as intensely with the yucky liquid call water - a true opportunity for growth… which was, of course, utterly lost on Rogère
Well played regarding fight management btw (getting us to the edge, then having the opposition being realistic enough to withdraw/flee, as it seemed the logical course of action (and not TPK us
))!
