Thank you for the perfectly scripted, 100% predictable session! It was thrilling to see a team perform in wonderfully calm and normal ways, to include:

  • A cat staying balanced atop a lava rock PC rolling downhill
  • The same cat getting run over by the same PC after he was perfectly bowled down a giant crocodile by an enlarged other PC
  • Paladin tossing
  • Many uses of the fly spell, which actually worked well! Except for that one time you sent up a tasty snack to the Giant Pteranodon…
  • Somehow trying to frighten away and peacefully entice a dinosaur at the exact same time
  • Getting covered in spiders
  • Finally getting Speak with Animals to be beneficial to you, only to antagonize an entire horde of spiders by eating one of them
  • Blood-covered kender chopping off multiple heads with tools from different ages
  • And, as always, our standard impressive dice rolling, with 1 in 12 chances always occurring, and a natural 20 making cloudless skies when you’re looking for clouds

It was a ton of fun. I look forward to the finale on December 6th! You each gain 1 level and 10 downtime days. Additionally, you recovered a total of 600 gold coins (100 each) from the stone chest… these coins are made of primitively beaten gold, stamped in a fashion that you have never seen before.

Unfortunately, when the cat got bowled over (literally), many of the gems that were stolen went flying into the water. When you finally stop to take stock, you realize that you can only find 380gp worth of gems per character at the end of the day. It’s VALUE magic, I tell you!

On the upside: you may take up to one item from the the following magical items found at the scene of the battle. If you take a magic item, please plan on describing how it looks during the next session as these probably look very different than “standard” magic items. No duplicates, please.

  • One stone necklace taken from the leader of the ambushed group of humans. It possesses many beads and feathers, causing it to be a Necklace of Prayer Beads (2 Beads of Curing, 1 Bead of Favor, 1 Bead of Blessing).

  • One Stirring Scale Ornament worn by your captive. Instead of a dragon scale, this is a decorated dinosaur or serpent scale that you have never seen before (your choice).

  • One Elven Chain, found in the stone treasure chest. Somehow, instead of reminding you of the forest and air, it feels dark, of stone and vengeance.

  • One Ring of Protection, found in the pouch of your captive. It has the symbol of the Falcons from The Mountain.

  • One beaten iron Longsword +2, previously wielded by your captive. The markings are similar to the gold coins in the chest.

  • One stone-headed, Berserker Axe (great axe), taken from one of the dead ambushed humans.

  • A mammoth hide War Horn of Valor from the leader of the dead ambushed humans.

Nogu would keep the Necklace of Prayer Beads which he found at the ambush side.

Makes sense that he’d get first choice, since he’s the one who stayed back for the treasure.

Hard to believe that Maxi ran off from a chest full of gold…

Maxi is absolutely chotic, yes. The stone chest was not sparkly enough… She takes the ring :ring: sparkly enough!

Oops, I skipped the “no duplicates”. In that case Scorch will stick the Stirring Scale Ornament onto this chest with a little bit of good old lava glue!

Dromm is taking the horn

I will take the elven armor. The proficiency trait allows me to cast spells, right? That is really nice

Summary posts. Yeah, that’s something one does after DMing that I totally didn’t forget about…

Thanks to @FrozenKimchi @polina @Tequila_Sunset @Janlocks and their +1’s for playing at my table.

You all managed to not-so-stealthily steal the monster egg from the natural history museum. Thanks to some quick thinking and spells, you were able to make it out without being caught. Dr. Dannel is extremely grateful for both believing her and saving the city. For you troubles you get:

  • 1 Level up
  • 10 Downtime Days
  • 120 GP
  • A Bag of Holding filled with fancy cloths from the gala

Dang, my uni assignments didn’t allow me to read the post and take the ring and increase my AC to 23.

Oh well, it’s still 22.

Thanks to @SND - Robin Glenn, @malinka - Finnea, @turtlene - SingSing, @takanari - Connor Kennedy, @istariel - Erunestaron for joining the Spelljammer Academy and playing through Starlight Arcana: To The Stars.

Assigned the yet-unamed Squidship with Siseth the Spelljammer, the crew picked up Alya, Yarfer and Nex and plot a course to find Zephyros the Cloud Giant and his extensive library, hoping to find a location for the Tomb of the Starlight Knight and the Light Sphere hidden within.

The Astralabe grants a direction and soon the crew are flying above the Sea of Fallen Stars, trailing a cloud that is moving against the wind. Descending they find the wizard-hat topped tower, board it and introduce themselves to Zephyros. Alya asks her question and Zephyros leaves them to the care of the ambulatory utensils that crew his lower level. While enjoying a shared colossal mug of beer and tureen of pasta our crew hears a dreadful shrieking and spots their ship being pursued by a group of giant vultures as another group of giant vultures approach.

Recognising the riders as Golden Skulls, our crew bluffs their way as staff of Zephyros, charms and enchants them and manage to feed them an incorrect location for the Tomb of the Starlight Knight which the Golden Skulls were also seeking. After their departure Zephyros provided the correct location - on Coliar - and our heroes summoned their squidship, noting the extensive damage and battered crew from tangling with the other giant vultures.

Exiting the atmosphere and making their way to Coliar, the Astralabe helps guide them to the secret jungle-berg location of the Tomb and they rappel down, lower Alya to join them and proceed into the Tomb. Some poking around reveals a mystic door lock and some gnoll guards elsewhere. Cracking the doorlock, they find a chasm and a sword lying in the grasp of a statue. Connor vaults across, ‘rescues’ the sword and then our crew proceed toward the gnolls. Asking to be brought to their chief for parlay, they are marched through the tomb to a dripping Gnoll lair beyond it. Lots of gnarled looking veteran gnolls gather and audience with the chief is held.

Explaining what they seek, the gnoll chief bargains with them, eventually bought off by cash contributions by Connor and Erunestaron and a batch of beer brewed up by Robin. Hands are stuck in pockets to resist the urge to try and loot the gnolls hoard and our crew finally departs with the Light Sphere as the gnolls test their beer. The squidship and its crew return and carry them back to Spelljammer Academy.

All crew get:

  • a level
  • 10 days downtime,
  • 10gp in wages,
  • 20gp from bits looted from the giant vultures the squidship fought
  • 70gp from trade goods the squidship crew gathered from the jungle while the tomb was delved.
  • New recruits to the Academy can also take 50gp worth of mundane equipment issued from the Spelljammer Academy quartermaster.
  • In addition, anyone may take a +1 magic weapon of their choosing, after the blade recovered from the Tomb of the Starlight Knight.

Thanks for the game! I had a great time, there were a lot of funny moments—like how we bluffed our way out of the Golden Skulls fight and sent them to their certain doom (oops). I especially enjoyed interacting with everyone’s characters. Even though we didn’t end up fighting each other :joy:

@xaosseed thanks for being a great host and for being very patient with me as I took way too much time figuring out where we were going and what our objective was hahaha! I will definitely try to attend again whenever/if you want to DM Spelljammer again.
