I’d love to come but I am like an absolute noob. I have never played but have already created a character. What table should/can I join?

I would recommend joining a T1 table and learn a bit by playing! Nice to have you here!

Hi, I know this is super last minute but my partner and I would love to play some RPGs tonight! A bit about us:

  • Used to play DnD a little before the pandemic but it’s been a whiiiiile
  • More familiar with Forged in the Dark systems
  • Want to get into more regular RPing
  • I think this is the group we used to be a part of waaaay back (like 2015?) and then life smothered us and we dropped off the face of the earth.

Since we don’t have characters ready I assume that means we’d come earlier, create a character with a DM, and be Tier 1? That seems to be what I’ve seen when people talk about dropping in unannounced.

I will be there at “Die Requisite” at 18:30 to help with character creation! Also I’ll send you a dm in a moment!

I would like to join as a player, T1 much preferred, any tier possible if necessary.

@darthkiwi Epic name :smiley:

It’s from when I was young and the fashion when coming up with an internet handle was “think of the silliest thing you can”. I was inspired by a man whose email address was “deathByOwls”.

I have regrets. But also not. :stuck_out_tongue:

 In my arguably humble opinion, this basis of a naming convention has very much aged well - it brought a smile to my face. Certainly in stark opposition to the one prevalent when I was still young eons ago, where the name of the game was totally-super-edgy-mysterious-uber-cool à la gems like Sh4d0wF4c3Melt0r   May the gods forgive me.

Oh yeah, who isn’t embarrassed of their edgy childhood nicknames, often written in Leetspeak or adorned by multiple "Xx"s on either side?

Also @darthkiwi there is no shame in changing your nickname if you do not like your current one anymore - I did that too in the past.

Hey guys i might run a little late! Winer Linien did a bit of an oopsie

Also running behind.

5 mins late

ETA+10min

Looking like I won’t make it. I’ll come by afterwards to lock up.

Thank you for playing at my table!

Romea is pleased to see that you returned successfully from your mission. And described, she tries to hide her smile as she listens to the tales of havoc you wrecked upon the city.

There is a bit of a ruckus though, once the Thyatian boy emerges from the portal! But I will post that, and your rewards, in a couple of days since I have a plane to catch.

In the meantime, for anyone who was interested in the city you visited… Adventures in Thyatis can range from endless gladiator battles of the great Colleseum to the political intrigue of Thyatian senators plotting against their rivals. It is a land of efficiency and laws… unless you’re powerful enough to manipulate them behind the scenes. Here’s a bit of background, courtesy of World Anvil:

Thyatis, once nothing more than a spur on the western continent, began its rise from obscurity a thousand years ago to become the dominant power of the western world. It’s an empire where a peasant can fight and connive their way onto the imperial throne… and find themself on the executioner’s block when they make their first mistake or shows the first signs of weakness. It’s an empire where races blend freely, where organisation and efficiency are the hallmarks of the national character, where trade and negotiations are taught to children on their mothers’ knees.

And yet, more than all these traits, it is fighting ability which is most admired by Thyatians of all racial backgrounds and social classes. Only one person can hold the throne at a time; only those learned and lucky in trade can amass huge mercantile fortunes. But anyone, from any part of the empire, can become a warrior-knight, and that’s the dream and ambition of the masses.

Thyatis is the most powerful nation on the mainland. At one point in its history, it held half the known world in its empire before being pushed back. While it is an empire in decline, it is still very much a force to be reckoned with.

Thyatis is lead by Emperor Thincol I, who personally turned the tide against Alphatia when they invaded several decades back. He has tried to turn the decline around, with mixed results. Thyatis still maintains a strong military, and their campaign against the Hinterlands shows their expansionist policies have not changed. Thyatis is still one of the last nations to embrace slavery, and their reputation for treachery and intrigue is well deserved.

My T1 version of The Haunting of Sleepy Hollow has been played to great success! Thanks for playing @Tiero @hatmaker @neon.tetra @mcbasm789

Tincan, Missy, Pit and Stor Helder did the seemingly impossible and had a harrowing day in the town but came out victorious. The thieving, associating with the faithful, being good to ordinary good people and lastly of course racing across town have not gone unnoticed. (Thus the magic items, wink wink)

your characters gain 125 gold pieces (shared loot), 1 level & 10 downtime days to be spent however you see fit.

In addition, you procure 1 choice of the following magic items for your individual player character:

It was great fun to be the DM for this group and I hope that we’ll see each other soon enough

When the Thyatian lad finally stumbles out of the portal, having taken several moments to summon up enough courage, there is noticeable shock on Romea’s face. After another long moment of any quick explanation that the party may start to stutter out, Romea rattles off a series of arcane sounding words so quickly you can barely distinguish that it’s not just a single word., and the area turns to complete darkness that not even infravision cuts through. Within seconds:

– An alarm sound blares through the forest, over which you hear the boy’s startled cries (in surprise, not pain) in a language you don’t understand, and further words from Romea, again not understood, before your hearing disappears completely.

  • Blind and deaf you stumble, not knowing what is going on, though you feel the disturbance of air near you, as though much action was taking place.

– Equally abruptly, your vision and hearing return. There is no one to be seen.

If the party treks back to the testing site, before reaching there they will encounter the half-elf who conducted Log’s test (If not, the half-elf will seek them out). He explains that the boy is completely unharmed, and it’s simply that his presence violates the confidentiality that is so important to building a wondrous future. The boy will be returned unharmed after a few simple questions, and the party can either wait or he will be taken to the Last Drop and the party will can see him there.

In the meantime, he has brought the party’s payment.

Log: 120 gp, 1.5 trust points, & an Amulet of the Devout +1 (uncommon)

Just Wrymeth: 90 gp, 1 trust point, & a Wand of Pyrotechnics (common)

Vilthuin: 60 gp, .5 trust points, and a Unbreakable Arrow (common)

Lonin & Erevan: 30 gp, .5 trust points, and a Keycharm (common)

Everyone gains an additional 40 gp and a potion of healing from their performance in the Colleseum, as well as 10 downtime days.

A few days later, you’re pleased to see the Last Drop has taken in a new employee to help with the increase in traffic: the Thyatian boy, Acatian! He doesn’t speak common, but recognizes you and rushes over to give you hugs and warm welcome. Karn, in his usual gruff manner, says he came recommended (if approached privately, he’ll admit the “recommendation” came with another block of mithral), and while Acatian doesn’t speak common, he seems like a good lad who works hard.

Thank you once again for playing at my table, @Bearberry, @Bryabrya, @Istariel, and @Dharaxas. I hope you all enjoyed the session as much as I did, even with that bittersweet twist at the end.

After witnessing the chaos of a terrorist attack orchestrated by the Mousetrap Insurgency, you bravely attempted to intercept these shadowy figures. But in a chilling turn of events, you came face-to-face with Cassius for the first time. Though he let you live, it was at the cost of leaving him to his dark machinations. As tensions rise and hidden agendas come to light, the true nature of Cassius begins to emerge, revealing that he is far more dangerous than anyone could have imagined.

To aid you in the challenges ahead, each of you receives 400 gp and a choice of one of the following items:

For Demenor

Deminor, for successfully completing your mission to assassinate Camara, you’ve earned something special. Little Hands, under orders from his higher-ups, was given this “Funny Looking Stick” to pass on to you. He might think it’s just a piece of trash, but he hands it over with a sheepish grin and says, “Look, I know it ain’t much, but orders are orders. If you ever need anything or some connections, help, whatever, you know where to find me. We’re in the same burrow now.”

Choose wisely, and prepare yourselves—Rotterdam’s secrets are only beginning to unfold.
