A hearthy thank towards @driow123, @JustJules, @Istariel and @Atanen for attending me on this adventure I ran.

As a reward for helping a couple in need and teaching the local nobility some manners you are rewarded with the aforementioned 400 Gold pieces for your characters, a.k.a. the life savings of the aforementioned couple. Further investigation of the temple reveals a secret room right behind the altar in the room where you found the husband. It is a small Office, with some folders and a drawer stuffed with cloaks. From there you may grab One of the following magical items for your characters:

• A Cloak of Displacement
• or a Cloak of the Bat

I looked into the houserules and all I could find about mundane items was you being allowed to keep and use it but about selling? There was a rubric about selling items in character creation for half their listed price, but that was in the character creation part and idk if it applies after that… as for the the hellhound. I would list it as a story award at my table to be safe.

At least in Value, you’re allowed to sell mundane items for half the listed price at any point between adventures

At least I’m pretty sure it always applies
