The V.A.L.U.E. of Cooler Weather 2: Electric Boogaloo

I’d like to join too with a T1 if it’s still possible (sorry I’m super late).

Also pretty late haha but I’ll join with a T1 wherever there’s still a free place : )

Oh wow! So many players!

I hope you all stay save down there… I’ve heard that on Friday the 13th, if there is a lot of rain and water, the Danube mermaids sometimes show up and demand a sacrifice.

The thing is, those are not the good kind of mermaids…

It’s ok, the Kanal should only flood by Sunday/Monday, we have plenty of time to get the bag AND evacuate on time.

Unironically though @Col_Mustard_Ret any previous water incidents at Die Requisite?

Welcome! I think you’re still good, though we are reaching a point where maybe both @Burek and @Col_Mustard_Ret could be needed as DMs?

We start at 7 PM. Check out the links in the beginning of this thread for more information

As you release the prisoners and help some of the water dwellers get through the stretches of land, the Loi guard show up to assist you. They had apparently been extra watchful because of these disappearances, and fter struggling with their decision for several hours, they finally decided to try and find Macuth mansion - and you - in an attempt of bravery, but were too late. They are not impressed with Macuth’s story, but agree to hear him out.

The events that have unfolded have caused the ruler of Loi to call for the second Aquatic Council, uniting tribes of the waves. They agree to disband the practice of fishing and that they really don’t need petting zoos. Instead, they are going to prepare their guards a bit more so maybe next time they will at least have real weapons and be able to fight when attack. They are debating reforming an army in fear of whatever Macuth’s friend is doing, but it is unclear if the peace loving underwater dwellers will sign up. As for Macuth, they appreciate that he came clean in the end, though they find he can no longer be trusted. He is forced into temporary exile in Macuth manor and is essentially on house arrest. They convince you to spend a little more time in the area before taking 13 home to Neverwinter.

As lockdown ends and you stay down there for a bit longer, you realize how big Loi actually is. You learn that Loi was created in honor of the dragon turtle LOI and was always intended to be a happy place , a bustling city where all creatures are welcome, and a place of opening your mind to new cultures. The other Loi cities are a bit less diverse, though they have gotten used to and appreciate the protection of the aquatic council.

While you are down there, you also do some less touristy traveling. Torfin travels to Liloi, the city that used to be home of the Lizardfolk, to learn more about his favored enemy. Though if he has time, he might join in Syanna and Galaris in their travels to Eloi, the nomadic city that used to be home of the sea elves.
Lime travels to Turloi, which used to be a turtle-folk only city. They treat turtles very well here, but they do love being hugged - it feels like their shell is getting scratched. Galen tries to learn more about Loi to figure out if she is still alive. Unfortunately, he isn’t really able to gather lots of information. Unfortunately, all your fins break as you are traveling around.

Eventually, it’s time to go back home. The giant sea horses are returned to the stables, and you realize that the little mergoblin you saw there as you arrived is actually a wizard whose every day job it is to cast teleportation circles so people can travel both directions.

You deliver the pink jellyfish to Callie and find out a way of keeping the baby turtle (Safira?) with you.

Ambas Sador 12 is pleased with the work you have done in going down to Loi and clearing up a bit of the mystery. Quite frankly, he hasn’t been in Loi in a few decades, so he’s shocked to hear about the fishing pond and the petting zoo - both weren’t there when he was growing up - but he’s quite excited that you managed to take care of all that AND bring back 13.

As a reward,

  • he grants you honorary citizenship of the city-sisterhood of Loi.
  • you can also choose to keep the goggles of watervision engraved with Loi’s tourist slogan (homebrew → would transfer to goggles of nightvision in the value rules) or
  • the cap of water breathing or
  • a net (which you took from the fishing pond)
  • a trident (recovered from the depths of Macuth Manor or
  • you return to the cave entrance and retrieve a pearl of power (either in red, blue, or green), but take 1 piercing damage from the giant crabs that are still there, guarding.
  • He is so impressed, he pays you 75 GP each but doesn’t mention that he would have been willing to pay twice that if you had negotiated for it in the beginning.

You may choose to level up and you gain 10 downtime days.

There is a possibility that there will be a few more adventures in this setting, but I’m not sure. I might create a forum post with the history and backstory of the setting just in case.

Until then - stay dry and thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing Gab (@jboimler), “Dr.” Will Swindle (@Marcell), Elvas (@eeni34), Gil (@Col_Mustard_Ret), & Ray (@Martin)! Hoping you had as much fun as I did with the session.

Thanks to your nursing home excursion, Sigrin Greystone of Luskan is not only safe and sound in Waterdeep, but has your gratitude (as much as she cares to show it). Both Gralan & Gallio now see your competence with the dispatching of the Zhentarim agents as well as the goblin tribe with relative ease, and will surely keep notes of your skill. Thanks to your efforts, over the following weeks, there is a tentative non-agression as well as trade pact established between Luskan & the Lord’s Alliance (both Neverwinter and Waterdeep being the members of it).

Putting all your rewards & magical items you came across together, everyone gets:

Just make sure to keep an eye on the houserules, mainly the magical item limit/tier chart.

Gab (@jboimler), Gallio definitely lets you return and lodge with him for some days, offering you his spellbook’s contents for copying • Cantrips (at will): fire bolt, light, mage hand, prestidigitation • 1st level: detect magic, mage armor, magic missile, shield, comprehend languages, expeditious retreat, hideous laughter • 2nd level: misty step, suggestion, detect thoughts, locate object • 3rd level: counterspell, fireball, fly, clairvoyance, dispel magic • 4th level: greater invisibility, arcane eye, banishment • 5th level: legend lore, contact other plane

Ray (@Martin), on the way back, a former vulpine friend of yours brought one of her sickly pups, in hopes you can help her. If you would do so, you gain a potential ally in the battles to come (as a story reward).

Have a nice weekend & stay dry!

Yes, Torfin would love to join his new friends and show them his old home (thank you for a bit of backstory, couldn’t come up with a good name for the sea elven city where Torfin grew up)! :man_bowing:t2: He is befriended with the Lizardfolk in the Mudlands of Cormyr (homebrew campaign of @truecrawl, where Torfin was my very first D&D character in april of 2023). They are favored enemies, because he got to know them (and fought their undead).

I even thought he could work with the guards on the foundation of a Loi defense force!

He definitely could. Seeing as he has no troubles in going back and forth without any help and with everyone knowing he’s a friend of 12, he would be welcomed.
