Sawturday: Park V.A.L.U.E.s

:deciduous_tree: location: Naschpark, Naschmarkt, Rechte Wienzeile 59, 1050 Wien, 11:00-16:00

CHANGE OF TIME AND LOCATION

  • As at least at today’s table there was an “earlier is better” vibe, there will be an attempt to run Sawturdays from 11:00 to 16:00 from now on
  • We were informed by Sägewerk that there will be a big crowd next Saturday due to the UEFA Champions League Final later that evening, creating a noisy environment
  • We will therefore play outside, at the new Naschpark next to U4 Kettenbrückengasse
  • There’s 5 big tables that are covered and restrooms nearby.
  • As reservation isn’t possible, they could all be taken possibly, but there is a contingency plan nearby
  • We are likely to return to Sägewerk in future weeks

Post below if you are coming. Players of any level of experience are welcome.

I will be running my mostly homebrew, mostly new adventure called “Taking it for Granite:moai:(T2) for up to 5 players.

An archeologist has gone missing in the Anauroch Desert. Someone is very eager to find him, but why?

Disclaimer: Players who played my desert adventure last week at Requisite might recognize some set pieces, but the story has been completely changed and bears very little resemblance to the old one.

I’d totally be up for joining that adventure!

This means we’re full now!

Just a caveat to all of you:

There’s a chance of drizzle, and the tables are only partially covered, so maybe bring a light rain protection just in case?

Worst case we go into the Naschmarkt-Halle, but seating is limited there

Hehe nothing worthwhile doing has ever been easy - I have no worries, we’ll simply pick the most expedient of a myriad of solutions :chipmunk:

And if necessary, we’ll simply blend it into what is happening in the adventure that moment - mmm what water/rain themed characters/spells exist? How to make the desert cry

After forging a peaceful accord with the oasis dwellers, Dusa—sporting a clever disguise and makeover courtesy of Roger and Bezdess—accompanies your party to Baldur’s Gate. From there, you travel onward to Candlekeep, where you finally secure a legitimate buyer: the Avowed, the esteemed monks who safeguard the great library.

During your visit, the monks reveal the terrifying truth about the Netherese scroll. It was designed to summon a Phaerimm Agent, a nefarious and deeply destructive entity that undoubtedly would have betrayed the oasis dwellers. Recognizing the danger, the Avowed agree to purchase the scroll for an absurdly generous sum, ensuring it is safely locked away within their deepest vaults. More importantly, they vow to dedicate their resources to researching a cure for Dusa’s affliction.

With the staggering proceeds split among the group, Dusa spares no expense on his new life. He commissions magically shaded sunglasses and an illusion-infused wig to protect both himself and everyone around him—along with a spectacularly lavish new wardrobe. He also purchases a small fortune in jewels and gold for Lamia. Returning to the oasis, he presents her with this wealth, ensuring that while she may not be the Queen of the Desert, she is unquestionably the Queen of the Oasis. Though Dusa now spends most of his days living in comfort alongside Lamia at the oasis, he makes regular trips back to Baldur’s Gate and Candlekeep to indulge in a bit of fun and check on the monks’ progress toward his cure.

As for the Red Wizard of Thay—the very one whose treacherous schemes set this entire chain of double-crosses into motion—his thoughts on your lucrative success remain shrouded in mystery. Perhaps he is currently brooding in some dark corner of Faerûn, meticulously plotting a terrible revenge against the party that thwarted him.

Or perhaps, stripped of his prize and thoroughly outmaneuvered, the infamous mage will ultimately prove to be much more bark than bite.

Either way, for now, that is a problem for another day.

From the Avowed of Candlekeep you get:

Thanks for playing!

Haha very elegant solution to have the Avowed make it worth our while :sign_of_the_horns: Exceedingly interesting adventure - deceptionception - I wonder how other parties chose, as there does not appear to be a solution satisfying the requirements of a “good” alignment. As for the Red Wizard, he might find that, for all the power of his faction, he might have erred in the choice of his “minions” this time around  Oh and GREAT choice of magical items  Thx for DMing!!
