Drinks, conversation, and ... Space Station

yip yip yip yip 7pm.

Auburney, how about you?

7 works for me, too.

Auburney can’t make it tonight, unfortunately. Shall we go with another ridiculously random one-shot tonight? I’d really like to continue the Piatnik game with all hands on deck, but I also don’t want to annoy anyone by continuing to put it off. What say you?

RIDICULOUSLY RANDOM ONE-SHOT!!!

Quite…

Thanks for indulging me in yet another experiment. This one began life (yes, on the tram) as a fairly typical Call of Cthulhu adventure about characters slowly drifting into insanity as they uncover unspeakable evils, but then I started wondering what would happen if the characters were already insane to begin with. But how could that work? I mean, insane people never actually know they’re insane, right? Hmm…

Anyway, as promised, a brief epilogue to the epilogue. (You thought I forgot, didn’t you?)

Mona kept a very low profile after her escape, and never was found by anyone. She remained convinced that she could turn water into beer, and saved a good deal of money she otherwise would have spent on alcohol.

She proved to be a natural at waitressing. After all, she already had years of experience.

James, the former accountant, spent some time at the Army’s Regional Containment Facility in Fort Carson, Colorado, but was eventually released when psychologists deemed him not only harmless, but fully recovered. He truly did have an epiphany when he gasped, “It’s not the fifties?”

James wound up moving to California, where he turned his vivid memories of Mars into a successful screenwriting career. He earned an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for his work on the hit show Mars: 1956.

David and Marv stuck together, sharing a cheap flat in a nondescript town. David became very good at ignoring Marv’s increasingly odd behavior, and convinced himself that Marv was simply an innocent kid caught in a tough situation beyond his control, even as a string of disappearances shook their little town.

When Marv asked him to hand over the car keys one day, David did so without hesitation.

And back at the large house with the wide lawns and the small rooms, Alice drove herself mad wondering what was real and what was merely her imagination. Was she truly a monster hunter, standing between humanity and untold horrors? Had she really seen monstrous creatures wandering the halls? Were they even now plotting humankind’s demise?

But that’s a story for another day. It starts with Alice sitting on a bench in a well-tended garden. It’s a nice day and a gentle breeze is blowing …

Thanks again, everyone!

Poor Alice…

BTW: Is there a game scheduled for this week?

Hey, David just got murdered by a psychopathic teenager.

Who would have ever seen that coming?

EDIT:
If nobody plans on running anything, but people have the time and will to play, I’d be willing to run a game of inSpectres. Absolutely 0% preparation work will be done so if anything goes wrong, I can blame you guys.

I’ve got my sights set on next week. Thursdayish, perhaps? I should be pretty flexible about dates, though.

If Auburney’s around, we could finish off the Piatnik epic?

I’d be in for inSpectres…
For king matchstick as well of course

What’s that about?

The CoC talk reminds me of my mad scientist character I had running for a while.

Hey! Next week is perfect. Would Wednesday work for you guys? I’m in for any game, but I’d love to finish off King Piatnik as well :smiling_imp:

Next Wednesday or Thursday’s perfect for me

Nope, not Wednesday, sorry! :frowning: And we already booked Thursday for Pendragon, right?

D&D 5/next, actually.

But close enough.

Yep, sorry - I liked Pendragon so much, now I see it in everything

Aaaaaaw…

Hey guys, did we once have talks about trying Apocalypse World?

Any games or interested players this week?

<- interested player

I’d like to join this week.

If nobody volunteers for DMing duties, I can offer another D&D next game, although I don’t want to monopolize the games or step on anybody’s toes… I am only offering if nobody else can DM and will hapilly back off if an alternative presents itself.

I kinda got a couple of indie games I plan on running and thought this may be a nice chance to introduce “The Mountain Witch”, a very neat 2-3 session game of trust and suspicion. I’ve researched the Samurai genre in the past week and I’m pretty confident in this. So if people are for ruining my life by paying me back, this week is fine.

Though honestly, I’d like for either Alrik or Auburney to join in so they can both give practical examples and point out any mistakes that I make. Indie games after all.
