I don’t know. From reading his essays and columns, I get the sense that his views and his political self-identification were formed by quite a bit more than just religion. He’s quite vocal on a whole host of subjects other than gender roles, and in most of them, it’s hard to detect much of a religious influence.
(And no, I’m not planning to read the Shadow books. I’ve really had quite enough of Card.)
